From: Zephria Zapata least the old way i didnt have tio get out may caualtor and see if i had enought money to buy this way stinks big The Buy L$ page is going to be upgraded to accept a UD$ amount that you wish to spend and it then calculates how many L$ you get at the current rates.

Thumbs down to the new method it will not help the linden dollar get stronger infact it has dropped yes it isnt flucuating as much but it was the people who wouldnt be able to find 5k at 3.85 and then buy it at 3.89 cause to them its just 4 cents more. Its those tranactions that kept the value higher on average. By having them buy at the lowest rate it kills that all together. People should have the freedom to post their blocks and have just as equal oppertunity to sales as any other no preference base. And buyers should be allowed to buy what blocks they want. In the old days buyers would buy from friends in GOM cause they would be able to know which blocks where theirs but now they cant they dont know who's linden they are getting.

I think it's working great. Even though I've only bought a few blocks for my own personal use, I've watched the market closely over the last couple of weeks before and after the change. Honestly as a first time buyer under the old system, I was frustrated seeing large blocks for sale at a lower price and being unable to buy them. This is much fairer than the old way. I much preferred buying under the new system where I was guaranteed the best price.
When people complain about the slide of the linden, we are talking about 5 to 10 cents per block in the buy column. Well, on the sell side of the column, it has risen by 5 to 10 cents per block (was around $3.70-$3.75 a couple of weeks ago). The price is converging in the middle, making for a narrower trading range, not a huge slide in the price.
Now if you look at the orders to buy and sell, there is significant pressure on either side to keep the price in the $3.80-$3.85 range. Looks like a good stable price to me. There's even a bit of pressure building to drive the Linden a bit higher. The system is not as attractive for speculators who tried various techniques like buying large blocks and breaking them up, but for people who actually want to buy or sell lindens, this is much more attractive.

Just at the moment I'm buying fairly heavily to invest in-world so it looks good to me, the new system has dropped the L$ to a nice low price.
However, if I were selling I wouldn't be so happy. Indeed the current trends have finally decided me that I'll only be accepting rentals in US$ via Paypal. So not only is the new system bad for sellers generally, it's going to loose GOM business too.
Of course it could be that if sufficent in-world enterprises move to US$ only transactions the situation might improve - less L$ on sale will drive the price up - but how many in-world ventures can be made to work without accepting L$? So it looks like there is going to be a continuing imbalance between supply and demand until the L$ finds it's new market value. I certainly wouldn't want to be selling land or content at the moment and finding myself saddled with either reduced profitability or having to raise my prices...

From: someone So it looks like there is going to be a continuing imbalance between supply and demand until the L$ finds it's new market value. I don't see this percieved imbalance. Perhaps there was in the first few days of the new system. But right now these are 1801 blocks that people want to buy between $3.80 and $3.85 and there 1432 blocks that people want to sell between $3.85 and $3.90. That looks pretty balanced to me and if anything there is a bit of pressure building to move the market upwards.

I voted in favour. It's easy to use, and I've enjoyed the deals, buying and selling.

I retrack my thumbs down after using it I do like some of the features of it and dislike some. I guess it just takes some getting use to. Change *shutters* I do find more sellers offering to sell to me direct and not going through gom to avoid the fees and get the best selling price so Im a happy camper
