I know you guys are busy with a bunch of other things, but I think it would be really cool if you developed a client for Linux/X.
Epic Games did this with Unreal Tournament and it's awesome. I'm trying to move away from Microsoft as much as I can and I know plenty of others who are too..if SL had a Linux client I would play it a lot more often.
I know you guys already have experience with Linux because the SIMs are hosted with linux distros. When you get a chance, try making a Linux client!

I'da know if that'll be too impressive. Folks have managed to get SL running on Xfree-86 for a while now. It just takes a bit more work come patch time and, until that linked thread, never really had a good "how to." So I'da know... the client itself I'm not too interested in. Support for the client via patches and bug fixes, on the other hand...

Well SL already runs on Mac OS X which is a unix based OS, surely it couldn't be difficult to do the same for Linux? I suppose it might be the issue of desinging it for compatibility with all the different flavours of Linux.
