From General.. Was wondering if there currently IS a correct place to put such posts.. It probably would help to have a "Newbie/New Resident Help" forum in an obvious place.. It probably puts some people off posting for fear of being flamed, and such easy questions as the one in the thread above go unanswer for yonks.. Thoughts?

Really it depends on the question. How do i build is a different question then How do i script.

From: Strife Onizuka Really it depends on the question. How do i build is a different question then How do i script. Hmm.. Well, I was thinking of the sort of questions LiveHelp fields most of the time, now thinking about it, like how to rise the sun (as above), join land parcels, find out how many prims they have left etc... I suppose this is what live help is for, but it doesn't stop people posting.. Hmmm..

I think this is a really good idea, for heaps of reasons: - Zaptoeth gave good examples of general questions not suited to a specific forum - Newbies might not know which forum to post a question in until they get the answer (On my first day I would have posted "How do I make one of those wee dragons that follows me around" in the animation forum.) - Ever met a Newbie with only one question, on one subject? <grin> I had fifty an hour. On every subject. It might be more comfortable for people to post multiple questions in a general Newbie area, with being afraid of bothering the gurus. - It is customary to keep the "Newbie area" of the forum as a safe area. As a newbie I was terrified to post here, it took three months to work up the nerve to ask my first question. When I did everyone was very kind, but with a newbie area I wouldn't have been so afraid of looking like an idiot. - We could sticky some of the obvious FAQs at the top, and it could make great resource for helping people in world as well... <post reached half length of hand, time to stop>

Sounds like a good idea to me too.
