I understand that some of these suggestions may take a lot of work to make it into SL, none the less they would be fun. :)

llSmog() returns the amount of smog at the objects position
llSalinity() returns the value of salinity at the objects position
llTemp() returns temperature at objects position

-Sits back and watches the land barons mark up prices for smog free, warm climate, salt water property- :rolleyes:

Anyone else got any ideas for more functions such as this? And if anyone would like to work on any weather related stuff in world with me, give me a IM.

*I'm sure the post will get lots more stuff added to it as my mind wanders more and more.......*

Ha, Cid, you should post on the Forums more. I know you have swell ideas.

These functions might have to have corresponding visual components. For example, high temperature across an asphalt road could be indicated by blurry heatwave ripples or even a mirage. That would be a thrill to see... or sweatin' avatars! ;)

"sweatin' avatars" you say? o.0 -gets an idea for a great new attachment- - comes back 1/2 an hour later smelling as bad as all get out-. Yes i do agree a lot of new stuff would have to be implemented but it would be great fun to be able to get all these stats and dare I say..... maybe one day control them MUHAHAHAHA -begins to sweat again because no one is laughing with him-

*edit* It would also be interesting if the color of an object could effect the temperature :)

llSmokingOrNon(integer smoking)
sets whether that parcel is a smoke free environment or if you can light up.

i might be way off but i think you could probably make all the stats you wanted for avatars if you did them in an attachment that kept track of the stats and changes. you could make everything like The Sims if you were nutty like that. or D&D or whatever. might not be a new idea i guess.

I'm sorry, but I just have to...

llIQ(integer value); llDetectedIntelligence(integer number);

Something like that would make my SL experience so much more enjoyable. General joke, by the way - no implications on the folks in this thread. ;)

In all seriousness, though - yes, you could Zuzi. Creating, say, a temperature algorithm in a sim or whatnot could be very possible, with set patterns, etc. What we do need, though, is a more powerful way to set a parcel/world "sky box" and cloud level to befit the reading - but, that's probably a ways off.

llInversePhysics(integer bool)

Sets wether or not physics is inverted. This would be ideal for someone trying to simulate Wonderland.

Oh, thats an idea im sure has been kicked around before but I would really care to see more variables in our environment. We already have a lot of versitility with our avatars (not suggesting there could not be more though :) ). And btw one more for the list...

llDetectedVolume() (not volume detect) gets the sound level from its environment including some way of detecting the decay of a sound volume per meter from source

*wants to make a cube that freaks out when it hears loud noises..... so he wont feel so alone*

And most of these are great ideas :), keep em coming.

I LOVE this :). But it may have to be adapted for SL. IQ = 100 * Days since joined SL/ Number of times a box has been attached to your head. :rolleyes:

*estimates his at around 5* (IN SL TERMS :p )

This is a fab one, suggested by a friend of mine. And since we cant name names anymore well call her, J. Callahan. No wait thats too obvious, Jillian C. Now if physical objects could be effected by wind as well....

llMakeCurrent() produce wind from source *grin*

Thank you Jillian C. errrrr J. Callahan for dreams of a magical leaf blower in SL :D .

Btw since im all jumping up and down like a lil kid for new features :) , it would be nice if LL would fix llCloud() soon... very soon. And i know a lot of ppl would say that their are more pressing issues, and i agree, still just my suggestion :). And also quite a few ppl would say why do you want it, you silly silly silly boy? And to answer them: B/c its sumthin else to slap onto the HAL 1000 weather balloon.... and a HAL 1000 can not give incorrect data...

llDetectedSprawl() ? *grins*

But seriously, I'm all for more options on sim environments.

llTastesLike(key object)

Returns a vector for the given object (or avatar!), whose components represent the saltiness, sweetness, and sourness of the given object.

It would probably always return <0.5, 0.5, 0.5>, represented by the constant value TASTES_LIKE_CHICKEN.

Or for the gold-diggers out there.

llDetectedMoney(integer number);

Oh oh, i also want .....

llMomentMag() Returns the moment magnitude, for seismological data, at objects position

-ducks under desk- :eek:

I seem to be on a roll tonight. :D

llLTU() Linden Thermal Units :D

It would be grand if when an object used energy it produced heat as well, which in turn would effect the wind :) .

But, vehicles can only go up to 4096 meters. :p

I didn't say it was a vehicle so :P. I'm gonna be free fallin on a cube at about 50000 LTU's.
-I'm gonna need a "sitting on a hot park bench" animation-

Now leave me alone so I can go back to sleep and get more good ideas to ramble on about :P.

oh and if we have some way of guaging the heat, and a way of increasing the heat, we prbly should have a way to cool it off. Any ideas jill?

I've seen things you newbies wouldn't believe.
Tigersharks ghosting off the corner of Ahern.
I watched sex-balls glitter in the dark near the Sl00tsvile hub.

Beautiful...

Is there, or was there, any Blade Runner themed sim?

I have been thinking exactly how to word this, and i can not come up with how to :confused:

llMagnetic() perhaps make the poles on the z axis? and of coarse physics would have to be on. I'm not to sure of all the possibilities yet, but im sure it would be a lot of fun. And i know now to expect this one well until after Havock 1000 :p .

llSponginess() OOOOooOoooOOoOOo a way to soak up some of the moisture in the air and lower the cloud density.... one step closer to controlling SL weather from my lawn chair 200 meters in the sky :D .

And if anyone is interested I have been gathering data about the SL sun movements and am starting to notice an emerging trend, besides sun goes up sun goes down :p . If you want to find out a bit about it, or possibly help me sort thru all the data ;) , toss me an IM in world.
