there are two things that would make my sl experience more enjoyable.
1) the ability to turn off the ulgy red lines that are used to show areas are private. its nice to know why you cant land somewhere, granted. but for those of us next door to the intrusive red lines it lowers our game pleasure. even with a linden lot squeezed between my nice neighbor and myself, their lines still showed within my land, to the point of being seen in front of my objects set to cover them. it was a heart break.
2) another disenheartening aspect which we have little control over is what comes up next to our land after weeks/months of investing ourselves into them. while its much like rl in that we have no control over what our neighbors may choose to do, and each build is special to its builder, i think using more linden plot deviders would help. or perhaps some type of feature where you could put up a screen and choose to not see ... like a huge panel that camoflages or the like. currently i've not been able to make one inworld that retains asthetic value.
i loooooooove sl. i think it makes the real world a much better place. together we are stronger.

Indeed, after reading the promo on this game and watching the video, I was sooooo ready to jump in head first and start building some masterpieces. I was really, really, shocked to see NO zoning ordinances. Would that start a flame about govermental control ?

feniks,
I think lilone was talking about the banning lines rather than property lines. Obviously, there shouldn't be any way to turn those off, but it would be nice if we could hit a switch to hide them.

definately got the property lines thing down, but maybe some newb will profit from that (=
the property zones might be a nice way to handle something like that you are right. going forward.. nice experimentation i bet. some folk would def relocate and that would boost land sells in a few ways... sigh
we should be able to 'hide' the no trasspassing lines. for the sake of all the folk involved... lots of good ideas come through this forum, ya know?
no matter what, sl rocks!

Please at least read the FIRST page of the forum before you repeat suggestions. /13/64/24257/1.html

1) I agree.
2) I suggest bringing back a "draw distance" for individual plots or a "hide outside objects" simular to the sound controls that don't play sounds from "outside" your plot. The issue with Draw Distance for individual plots seemed to be that it caused wonkyness when flying over lands. I suggest to help this, have the individual draw distance only go to a certain height above the land, or maybe don't change draw distance if not on the plot for longer than x ammount of seconds.

Everyone would love to hide their neighbours from view... especially me. I live in a noobie sim... boxes and cabins galore.

Is there a script similar to the "invisibility" script that, instead of alphas, hides all prims? Even a small plot surrounded with vast fields of For Sale signs might be palatable if the owner could prop up an invisible from the outside, phantom wall to make those signs vanish.
The return of ground fog would also be neat.
