My vote is a big fat NO.

I realize that the effort here is to give sensitive people a tool to avoid exposure to such unclean words and therefore let the rest of us relax, but I'm almost sure nothing good will come out of it.

Obscenity filters simply do not work. We human critters are creative and dynamic enough of mind that we can clearly read a naughty word when it's been "hidden" among 3 times as many punctuation marks as actual letters, along with a huge variety of other variations. What's plain as day to us simply can't be forseen and programmed into an obscenity filter effectively.

The net result is that the obscenity filter simply draws attention to the concept of swearing. I've seen it plenty of times: communities with obscenity filters, even voluntary ones, have more swearing than those that don't, as people purposefully try to circumvent the filter. Put a big "POLICE LINE -- DO NOT CROSS" sign up in front of something and you'll draw a crowd, and the same rule applies here. Adding filtering will just make people swear more often in more creative ways.

I'm only a couple weeks old, but I think I've seen enough to know that swearing in SL isn't really that bad at all, because we don't give it that much attention. We should leave it that way.

I think we should turn this thread into a guess the naughty word for human reproductive system game.

Would be nice if there were no rudeness of any sort, including this one, but alas--

Better to ignore the whole lot. But I wonder, why do people feel the need to be rude to people?

That's kind of a rude question.

Rude is an opinion formulated entirely by the listener. Assigning guilt through opinion is kind rude.

why are you so rude?

Doesn't feel too good does it?

More to the point. PG

PEE GEE

not G

PEE GEE

How many of you have heard those magical mystical character defining words in a PG movie? or seen T&A or violence in a PG movie.... and I don't even mean PG-13....

You want a Disney incredible journey where the goat chicken and mollusk cross the wilderness in total non-cuss-word companionship keep that under your hat and just deal with the fact there are NO "G" rated sims....

If you want an incredible Journey where you get nasty with a mollusk, goat and chicken, I can suggest a few sims....
