If you have their card, you can tell people are online using the web site.

How bout the ability to txt message people in SL from outside, either web page based or a small little IM client.

Would be nice to have.

Hey TheWolf, I'm on board with this too.

It's part of my favored thoughtline concerning better, say, blog integration with SL.

As you know, there's a growing # of SL blogs, and it'd be handy to be able to save images directly as JPG -- or even have them auto-uploaded to a blogspace... and oh yeah?

Do you know Chatango?

http://www.chatango.com

So those are some ideas right there.

I'm also hopeful for more autojournalling and perhaps a "travel history". Heck, there's automapping, and this is 2004 A.D... notecards just don't cut it when it comes to the richness of some of the experiences!

EQ had this almost 2 years ago.

The upcoming Matrix MMO will have this.

Other MMOs have this.

This idea is very market competitive, IMO.

I made an IRC to SL relay awhile back. It was used to relay chat between inworld avatars and the efnet #secondlife IRC chatroom. I'll be working on it again to upgrade it from email to XML-RPC at some point.

I'm all for as many RL/SL IO as possible. I just posted a request for easier moblog facilitation, which would be a small change from embedding an image to attaching it in a SL postcard

Imagine how much cooler services like Flickr would be with the ability to submit images directly from Second Life.
