Rating transactions within SL like Ebay ratings

I would love to see a seperate rating system used only to rate transactions. Just like with Ebay, list the transaction, the ratings and comments from both the sellers and buyers. This would allow buyers an ability to beware of bad sellers. Just an idea...

Yes, exactly as you can with Ebay. The seller can rate, the buyer can rate and both can respond to the other with a follow-up.

This has been discussed for some time now. I believe the original concept was a reputation system precisely like eBay, though the thread seems to be somewhere out in space now.

That thread is more about the current rating system. I'm talking about a transactions only rating, meaning you can only use this rating system to rate a transaction. It wouldn't be a behavior rating exactly, although it would show the behavior as it pertains to the transaction. It would also allow the person who rates the sale a place to note why they choose that rating, positive, negative or neutral.

I love the rating system on ebay and go out of my way to protect my 100% rating. I know at some point I'll run into a neg rating no matter what I do, but the system works well for me. Also, when I buy I rest assured in the seller based on their recent transactions and ratings.

In another thread some people bought bad items and had little recourse. The current rating system doesn't help with this issue of transaction security.

Hopefully we will see something along these lines in the future. Even if it requires viewing these ratings on a browser.
