Second Citizen offered personal journals, but they're transitioning to giving members their own forums to moderate to use instead due to compatibility issues.
Second Soul appears to be doing the same. YASLF has something in the works. The web team will be working on it this weekend and if anyone would like to beta test it let me know by dropping an email at [email]kristiancee@gmail.com[/email] _____________________

This weekend I will be posting info on how to host your own WordPress site through the Second Life Home Page Portal.
People who are interested will get their own sub-domain and addition to the main site's blogroll. So if you wanted one SuezanneC you could get: http://SuezanneC.slhomepage.com I thought this would allow more independence than a multi-user journal site or forum integration. _____________________

Each person who wants gets a forum to moderate at SC, eh?
I recall people suggesting that thread starters get moderation rights over their threads here and folks objecting to the idea. I wonder what the response would have been to the Linden staff members each getting a forum instead of a blog. It might have gone over better while accomplishing the same goal. I was going to say I'm not sure I have enough oomph to start a blog but that's not quite right. I certainly have the energy to start one but I probably don't have the energy to see it through. I have several web pages that I can barely remember where are. I have a free web hosting site that I got to test doing PHP programs in conjuction with LSL and while I did run some little PHP programs use my own computer as a host, once I got the hosting service I stopped fiddling with that. I should try to get back to doing that. I understand that one can use trackback to comment on Linden blogs, I am not sure I have seen any evidence that anyone is doing that. _____________________

I understand that one can use trackback to comment on Linden blogs, I am not sure I have seen any evidence that anyone is doing that. I have yet to see that either. What we do on our site is RSS feed the Linden Blogs into the forum. Every Linden Blog entry creates a new thread. This allows us to discuss the entries amongst ourselves away from some of the noise. It also makes it so we don't have to check the blog for announcements, it just shows up in new posts. _____________________

As someone mentioned above, Second Soul does offer users free blogs. I recently posted a tutorial on how to start and run your own blog using our website.

Not directly SL-related but my own personal blog is hosted by http://www.blog-city.com . They have great support on the whole, altho sometimes I feel it's slow to load pages.
