I have a problem when hovering my mouse over product pictures on the product detail pages. The browser starts flashing the status bar, and the big picture flashes all over the screen, until I click the picture. The click works fine though.

It seems to happen when i hover the mouse close to the bottom of the thumbnails, and only where there are large pictures.

Using Firefox.

Thanks Moonshine! I'll open Firefox and see if I can duplicate the issue that you are having and get it fixed so you can enjoy MYSLShop.com without flashing status bar and huge picture problems :) Thanks for letting us know. You input is very much appreciated!

Its still in beta, alot of improvements but over all
i think it looks amazing!

I thought it was very easy to put items, and one thing i did recommend is to add more categories and make it "User-friendly" for ppl to buy stuff

The easier it is, the better it is!

** i had that problem with the email as well, a script error came, i did it another time and it worked **

Hiya

The site looks cool, However could I suggest an online registration, Similar to slexchange where you sign up on site then visit a terminal to confirm

Hello,

Thank you for the feedback. The newly listed items are right on the front page where it says "New Products/Just Added".

We will add a product count for categories as well shortly.

Thanks for helping to enhance http://www.MYSLShop.com

Happy Commerce!

So you only add 10 items a day? As I said, you need to be able to browse all new items in a set time frame, 12 or 24 hours would be best. I check SLX and SLB twice a day for new items - seeing only the last 10 items added on your site means there will be very little for me to look at and possibly purchase at your site.

Your site is very seller friendly - but not very buyer friendly.

The site is very nice indeed. It seems to be very sluggish though. I go on to other sites while waiting for the pages to load.

I have created an account and look forward to the future.

I am loving this site, and I have been in SL over 2 years and this is the first SL web store I am actually going to use :) YAY!
But think you can add a way to select more than one category when adding it to a product? it takes quite awhile when it applies to more than one catergory :(

What I mean is the New Products only show the last 10 items added.. so it makes it rather useless.. :)

Thanks for your input. You are correct. We will add a page with the latest items addec to browse through. 24 hours sounds good.

The front page though, is just the last 10 items that have been added to the database, nothing more. But I shall add a link there as well to browse through all products added in the last 24 hours ;)

i love the website... i just cant get registered at all lol
i've tried about 20 times... i've signed up fron ingame, got my email, clicked the link and got a page with the MYSLShop.com top left and bottom navigation area but nothing in the main bulk of the page... never got a password sent to me either

i thought that maybe if i request my password it woudl send me it.. but the password it sent me was '@@PASSWORD' lol which didn't work :P

how about adding a function where people can add an adition title to their account, like the name of their store, so if you searched for 'trend' it would show my store (woudl b handy if som1 didnt know the name of the seller, but knew the name of the store?)

thanks :)

EDIT

Thanks to MYSLShop Commerce, my problem is fixed :D Thank you :)

Just a neighborly tip - you may want to consider having an attorney review your Terms of Service to minimize your exposure. A good portion of your ToS is clearly copy and pasted from the SLBoutique site, with a search and replace done on the site name:

From SLBoutique.com:
As a passive conduit, SLboutique allows registered users who have verified an email address to electronically trade Linden Dollars for virtual goods and/or services. We cannot and do not warrant, verify, or guarantee the quality, accuracy, or integrity of items or information that you may access on SLboutique. You understand that you shall remain solely liable for any and all items and/or information that you submit to SLboutique.

Your site is currently having problems - looks like the DB might be down - or I'd show you the paragraph which was replicated, word for word, with SLboutique replaced with MySLShop. It was the first paragraph in your ToS.

While I'll be the first to admit that I gave my attorney links to the ToS of Amazon, eBay and SLExchange as sites to check out when writing our ToS, I didn't copy their ToS verbatim (as that's copyright infringement). I'd also recommend speaking to an attorney about how the code works, as you'll probably want more protections in it that the ToS I initially reviewed affords you. He can probably get you a better ToS from a boiler plate than what you're using now.

Good luck with your venture! I know I've had a great time running SLBoutique.

Regards,

-FlipperPA

no content ...
06-21-2006 10:55
While SL is down i decided to go ahead and venture over for a looksee. I can't see any content on any links at all. Neither can a friend i've given the link to. Lots of sql errors.

I have a few concerns with this - pending this isn't the website down for some maintenance. Which is hard for me to grasp since not 1 page is loading of the many.

Is this no content a process of a site maintanence? If so, why would the whole site be down? My concern is that if you are working on an update, my business would suffer for not being able to at lease present my products to the viewers.

Is this due to SL update? If that's so, then i'm not really thrilled about my products being "down" at the same time.

I have a ton of products and am looking forward to another venue to sell them through. I'd also like to be able to read the TOS as per Flippy's post and ensure that issues have been addressed (after all, it is a TOS)

Thanks for putting together another space for us content creators to sell our stuff. The layout looks great and appears to be easy to navigate. Now if i can just read stuff i think i'd have a different view point.

Cheers!

Hi Dartavia,

Please remember that we are in BETA still. The rough edges are being smoothed over. The site should have displayed a standby message as we are working on it to apply some of the features you all have suggested.

Performance duing Beta testing in no way reflects the upcoming release. Beta is for testing and handling things like what you have reported about the site being unavailable. Had this not happened during Beta, we would not have known about it until the site actually went live, then there would be cause for concern and we would not want that.

So the message is now displayed which lets you know the site will be acessible shortly. :)

But thank goodness for Beta!

Might I suggest a massage or a vacation? Seems like you could have contacted him/her privately if you were so concerned. But that's not what people do when they are trying to bring someone else down now is it?

Their email address is plainly posted on the site, they have Private messages in these forums AND you can send IM's in world last I checked. But then of course everyone would not be able to read that then. So of course you had to post it here. Wow. Unbeleivable!

I better go check my website too and make sure that I don't have the word "flipper" anywhere on there. That would be kind of hard since it's a marine animal reserach website though. Oh please don't post to the world that I have "flipper" written about 452 times! My aunt runs an online boutique too. I better go run and tell her to do a search and replace on the word "boutique" before you call Channel 7 news.

Try to handle competition in a more professional manner will ya?

Am I missing something? I was completely pleasant, I even offered advice, and wished the new site the best of luck, and stated about how much I enjoyed building the one I run. I didn't have my attorney contact him with a scorched earth letter, or post a public rant or tirade, even though a copyright was infringed upon. This isn't a single word, like "flipper" or "boutique" as you are trying to say - it is paragraphs of text that appear exactly the same, except for the name of the site. I'd say my response was very nice and supportive, all things considered! Have you heard of all the students getting expelled from colleges for doing the same thing? It was probably just an honest oversight...and if you'd read the thread, then you'd know everyone is just responding with suggestions and problems in the thread, not just me. And if YOU were so concerned, why didn't you contact me privately? Pot, meet kettle.

Regards,

-Flip

Flipper is being professional, polite, friendly, and helpful.

Seems like maybe you're the one with the chip on her shoulder, here.

I for one love to see new content-sales sites, it provides variety, competition, and space for content creators to stretch.

I wish MYSLSHOP the best of luck in their beta. :)

Understandable, but when is the last time your "neighbor" went on television to let you know that your car is blocking their driveway? My neighbor sure didn't post in the newspaper when I forgot to return his leaf blower. He knocked on my door and asked politey. Even a phone call would have done the job.

I would never post on the forums if there was something on your site that concerned me. I'd send you an IM or an email or something...that's all I'm sayin'.

So don't say that you are being neighborly to sugar coat any less than honorable intentions you might have regarding his/her new website or any further website that may come along for that matter.

By the way, your webiste is looking very "pretty".
