SLX or SLB?

Do you shop at SLX or SLB? and why. I am very curious as I have my items listed on both sites, but have very different sales numbers from each site. I like both sites for different reasons and don't really understand why my sales are so different for each.

Yes. :)
I have items on both sites, and I think it's prudent for any vendor to do that, since it means that people don't have to cross barriers to get to your items.

I buy on both sites too, though I mostly buy on SLX if I have a L$ balance there (which is usually the case, since they don't automatically cash out to your AV like SLB).

As a vendor I like the back end for SLB better, but wish it had the sales tracking tools that SLX does. I like letting customers choose which they prefer.

I prefer SLB's interface, though not its commision, but I use both to sell. I don't buy a lot from either but when I'm searching I look on both. So, basically: no need to pick one.

Personaly, after using both SLB and SLex, I like SLB better. Im big on user interface though and I think thats what makes me like SLB better.

They both balance each other on various terms. Fort instance, SLB allows you to list just three pictures for each thing, while SLx allows you to list much more, but while SLX is more time consuming on each image's upload (due to a very limiting interface) SLb allows you to upload all three pictures at the same time.
I just list in both, it's really fast since, having already wrote the description for one, i just need to copy and paste it for the other.
In any case, the more visibility, the better.

From a seller's point of view, I prefer SLX. It gives you more control over your items, tracking, and sales notifications.

From a buyer's point of view however, I prefer SLB. It's a prettier website.

I have personally sold very little through SLB. SLX on the other hand, has always been a good market.

Other's mileage may vary...

Hi Kyrah,

The latest version of the magic box no longer has a limitation on the number of items it can hold. If you're interested in consolidating, you can do so by getting the new one. :)

I generally go to SLX first and if I don't find what I want then I'll go to SLB - though sometimes when I'm feeling particularly lazy I'll just use SLB because of the little wallet thing you can rez instead of having to port to an SLXATM. *pokes Apotheus* SLX needs little portable atms consumers can rez! :)

Visually I prefer SLB but SLX is where 90% of my sales happen, and I don't advertise or even pay for premium listings on SLX!

I decided to go with SLX, maybe in the future I will use both, but right now people are saying SLB is having alot of bugs and lost items which I don't have the time for right now...

I have much better sales on SLX too. Maybe bacause search results don't always produce all the items you are looking for on SLB. IDK... just thought it was weird that the sales would vary so much.

I don't even bother pulling out my wallet -- you can just pay Commerce Leader directly and it goes into your SLB account!

I sell my items on both aswell.

However I have always done my shopping from slexchange.

I too have varied sales from both sites, I seem to sell more thru slx then slb, Slb is easier to set items for sale, But slx get higher traffic (in my opinion)

My experience has been I sell ten items through SLX for every one item sold through SLB, and I've never had any problem with SLX, whereas I've had to IM the SLB support many times to resolve problems with their system, from simply signing up to getting the vendor working right to my items not being listed or just plain crazy results from SLB's search feature (not showing items that should be there, and showing items that shouldn't). If one were to value one's time at at least minimum wage, the time it took to get my SLB box and listings actually working hasn't paid for itself yet. But I would hope that by now they'd sorted out all the bugs that plagued me. Didn't give be a good first impression, though. And considering that for a new vendor starting out when just a few products, their commision rates are pretty bad in comparison to SLX, that was quite the double-whammy. I will say that they were able to solve any problem I IM'ed them about, so the service is good in that respect, but I'd prefer not to have to IM them to begin with, things ought to work out of the box, particularly when you're paying more than with a service where everything did work flawlessly right off the bat.

As always, YMMV.

I think SLB would get much better sells if the search system were not as it is.

SLX provides a much better search system in my user experience and the catagory lay out seems to make finding things for me much easier. That could be a factor in why sells seem to be higher at SLX.

I don't dislike SLB. I just find SLX much easier to navigate and search.

The stuff on the two sites is about the same, but SLExchange is much better categorized, making it easier for people to find what they want. I shop SLX first, SLB as a backup. I also sell four to fives times more stuff from SLX than SLB, even though my prices are the same. It might be just my niche market affecting that, though.
