Hi Guys;

Just a fresh plug on a new tutorial, this one is on converting animated GIFs and using them as animated textures:

Very useful. :)

There is also a tool Hosted by FlipperPA Peregrine which lets you do the same type of conversion from his website. Information posted here:

I'd think when a post is appropriate to two overlapping categories with readers who don't overlap this wouldn't be an issue.

excellant...very simply explained & most timely as today was my first use of llSetTextureAnims

Being able to now use gifs in animations will enhance the product & simplify the process.

Many thanks :)

Hey there, I got question is there another way to do this without gif files?
Because I have been experimenting a bit with this.
I will tell you what I have been doing and what I am struggling with.
I am using special painted tga files with my friend.
She using Gimp.
I am using Adobe.
I draw out the images and textures in Adobe or by hand, then edit in Adobe.
Send them to her she makes black and white versions that are transparent over 16 different faces on one 1024 by 1024 sized tga texture then re-uploads the joined images, then adds
scripts.
We aren't using gifs at all.
Just multiple still images.
The issue I am having is how to make raised white area over black in Adobe like she does in Gimp in Lighting.
Lighting in Adobe does different things.
Only thing similar I found is this effect that creates waxy look or emboss.
Can you suggest something?
I am asking again because no one has responded or understands what I am asking.

but i dont know what you are talking about
maybe it would help if you call everything by its given name

raised white over black sounds like an alpha channel in adobe
but its not in gimp

but i dont think this is what you are talking about

help a brotha out!

although it looks good and alot of effort. i find it did not work on all i tried.
i do these animations in game and the tool at the top is perfect on ripping gifs down to a frame set....
