Hey gang,

The web-based tool for converting animated GIF files to an SL-compatible targa file (tiled) for animated textures has been moved (since SLBoutique is becoming shop.onrez.com). You can find the tool here:

http://www.PeregrineSalon.com/anim/

There are still a few outstanding issues during the ImageMagick montage conversion; transparency isn't maintained when converted from the 256 color GIF color space to the 32-bit Targa color space, and certain GIF files aren't handled well. I've bug reported both to ImageMagick, but if anyone has any tips on these problems, feel free to let me know! All the source code is included on the site.

Enjoy!

Regards,

Hi.
I tried this script, converted the gif no problem, gave me a script for the anim, but the link to download the resulting tga was broken.

A lot of the gifs I have work fine though some of the bigger ones (480 x 272) don't convert properly, it gives me a 6kb file.

Bloody fantastic otherwise, well done. : )

I've been using this site a lot but now I find that it's gone down, temporarily maybe.

Anyone know of any alternative solutions?
