If L$ => US$, why not skip middleman and make L$ => more land is the title of this thread, and I hope the Lindens are reading every one of these threads.

I am a lifetime member.

I probably have made 3/8 of a sim instead of the base 1/16 that I will be granted by the 1.2 changes.

I am sitting on a significant amount of L$.

If I want to maintain this land, yet not pay more US$ for it, why can't I simply shove over some of my already earned L$ for it?

You said it yourself, you can convert your L$ to US$. If I'm simply going to turn around and put it towards more land, why convert it. Why not simply hand it over?

This is a possible solution for me, and others who have done well for themselves in Second Life as it now stands. Especially those who may not be able to put US$ towards the system.

Please take this into consideration, Lindens. Thank you.

Bino:

I'm pretty sure this post :

Linden post

says that being able to use $L for land purchase ( and maintenance ?) "is" going to happen - but this definitely needs to be expounded upon. If current users with successful business models who are currently making enough $L to support "larger" land allocations can continue to use $L to fund their land, this will go a long way to alleviating some of the concerns that have been voiced in these forums.

Thanks Sinclair. I noticed the post almost immediately after posting mine, since in the time it took me to post, about 3.6 bazillion more topics came up :-D

Now to decide whether to wade through all those topics, or simple sit tight.

:-D

(for the record, I plan on staying, the way I see it, my lifetime membership paid for the enjoyment I had during beta, and so on, and I likely won't ever have to pay a dime to things won't change for me. I do understand that this is not the case for everyone, but I can't really do much about it)
