As I understand it, 1.2 is on its way. :) I'm very excited. Except!
In my Account Summary it says I need to tier up to get my land, for $5/month. But I only own about 1/4 my Lifetime Member alotment, and I've never recieved an e-mail about this before. Is there a $0/month option I'm not seeing? Hehe...
I can't wait until the new version comes out.

Uh, mine is weird too. It seemed to think I had to approve my current holdings - which are well below my allowance - but it put me in the next tier up for 5 bucks a month. I don't need the extra 512 meters this gives me, and I'd prefer not to pay the 5 bucks a month. What button do I push to make it all go back to ONLY allowing me one acre, and to get it to understand that there is no need for me to have a higher allowance or to pay a monthly amount?

Mine too... I'm a lifer and mine says...

You Have Sale Pending Land
You have 3104 sq. meters of pending land. You must tier up to acquire this land. Your recommended tier is 1/128 Region (512 square meters).

Land Holding Summary
Allowed land holdings: 4,096 sq. meters
Current land holdings: 0
Available for land purchases: 4,096 sq. meters

Quite what this means, I have no idea....

;)

(I noticed Colin was online, too.... last time I refreshed, Phoenix was on. Wonder what they're up to?)

I was dumb enough to hit the button. Actually, I was nervus that I didn't really OWN the land I bought before this transition - so I felt I HAD to click it to keep what I had. Now I appear to owe 5 bucks a month and have a larger allowance.

I don't NEED a larger allowance, so I was trying to figure what button to hit to get my old allowance back.

My account summary is nutty right now:
From: someone
Land Holding Summary
Allowed land holdings: 4,096 sq. meters
Current land holdings: 0
Available for land purchases: 4,096 sq. meters

Monthly Usage Fees
Peak Usage: 0 sq. meters
Total Monthly Cost: US$0.00

Um, right. Only I do have land holdings as the next page shows.
From: someone
Sale Pending Land
Julian Fate's Land Olive (32, 224) 4096 sq. meters

And it wants me to choose a monthly payment plan in addition to my 4096 sq. meter allowance. And what does "Sale Pending Land" mean?

Have any Lindens weighed in on what this means?

Ah!

There's an option at the side called 'My Land'. It allows you to 'acquire' your own land right here on the website... it also takes you to a completely tiered breakdown of the cost and gives you the option to buy anything from a sim down to 512m.

At the top it says 'You have 3104 sq. meters of pending land. You may accept this land without having to change your tier.'

However, it says, quite amusingly, on the last one...

$5/month 1/128 Region (512m2) , plus 4096 sq. meters <--Recommended Tier

um. mind if I don't? the 4096 will be fine :)

edit: I was posting this at the same time as the last couple of posts. I'm not that slow. Honest.

But I'd like to know... since it says 'without changing your tier' if I hit that 'accept land' button for my current land... since there is no secondary button on that page after the new tier option, and nowhere option for 'no change', will I also be accepting a $5 tier I dont want?

*coughs.. just to point out... that preview is preview.... uhm.... your land isn't currently available in the system (the sim isnt online) So therefore you own 0sq m. This will all change when 1.2 comes online.

Don't think thats the case Einsman. As far as I can see it's a case of having to accept your land. Which is a good thing, IMHO, because it equally makes it easier for people to see what they have and dump it if they dont want it.

Excepting for the question/inconsistency previously mentioned. Although having reread it, it seems to me that that is the lowest 'alert' value, meaning to say that you won't start paying more than that extra $5 unless you go over your 4096 (+512) alotment. Although I'd very much like an alert if I am going to go over my alotment BEFORE paying anything extra at all.

Of course, I could be completely wrong on both counts :)

Right now, in the wonderful world of 1.2 everyone's personal land will be listed as "Sale Pending." (Groups and public land won't be.) You will need to confirm your current land holdings By January 12, 2004 at: http://secondlife.com/account to determine what billing teir you will be in.

For those of you who have land under your current allocation (the lifetime members) the button will say "Accept Land."

If you don't have an allocation, the button will say "Accept Tier Change."

The main problem is the highlighted tier under the "Accept Land" button still shows a tier selected, so it appears you are accepting a change in tier. We're fixing this right now.

So does this mean I can safely ignore the line on my account that indicates that I have a lifetime allocation of 4096 plus a monthly allocation of 512 on top of that (for supposedly $5/mo), since I only use about 2000 of my base allocation? It added that when I selected "accept land" a little bit ago.

Please disreguard the above message from me... As so often as posting in BBS, when one is posting a question, someone else is at the same time posting the answer

I did the same thing. Now (a moment ago) when I go back and Update, there is a "0" choice that wasn't there before. I picked that and now everything looks just right :-)

You're right, and I just did (after mine said the same as Xadrian)

No one can ever say that the Lindens don't listen... from having the question asked on the forums to the feature being implemented in an hour. And all while they're working their butts off with the update.

Nice work, Lindens! :D
