Merwan, in addition to your statement when LL gave us the chart to convert lindens in for tier cost that alone set a precidence of RL money to Lindens as well...so many things that circle on this with LL embracing the RL to LL exchange.
Im not against that mind you but as it was said before when our $L bottom line is affected its as though they are robbing a RL wallet.

Live free ! SL is the place where you can't starve or die from hypothermia/dehydration/overheating/disease, so what do we need money for anyway ? _____________________
Either Man can enjoy universal freedom, or Man cannot. If it is possible then everyone can act freely if they don't stop anyone else from doing same. If it is not possible, then conflict will arise anyway so punch those that try to stop you. By 'real money' I mean a far bigger proportion of your inworld cash account as opposed to throwaway pocket change. AFAIK, Basic account holders get a base stipend of L$50, right? But it's L$25 per category per rate? I'm no mathematician, but I don't see how it can work! |

For months I've head many people say ratings were meaningless... Soon it will cost $25L to rate someone - and what? Outcry! You've heard this for months because several months ago, a Linden suggested that ratings were broken and could either be eliminated or adjusted in a major way. After that, people began to suggest that ratings were meaningless. |

I think there is a certain underlying geometric beauty in the contradiction: that ratings mean and don't mean something at the same time.
It's kinda like that old saying, "Can't live with someone, can't live without 'em!" or however that goes. People like to know how they rank -- it's some strange psychological thing with pack hierarchy -- and yet, at the same time, a number of very human things cannot be quantified into itty bitty numbers. And while giving someone a +1 for Build is a difference, it's not the same -- or as personal -- as going up to them and specifically saying what you specifically appreciate about their art + architecture. Which is why there are Comments, yet they are not saved in any single file, which brings us back to another... LOOP!!!  _____________________
