Personally I think smoking makes you look disgusting and stupid. But what do I know, eh? I'm just an egg. Heh, even as a small child I always found smoking rather disgusting. I never thought it was cool. Didn't even like the candy cigarettes. Always associated it mentally with 'low class' behavior. _____________________

Kris! OMG! THREE MINUTES? I can SO not shit in 3 minutes, for crying out loud. That's nuts! I guess you must eat a lot of fiber. I have been known to take between 10-20 minutes for THAT activity. _____________________

 That's exactly how I feel about smoking, and I got nothing against national ID either - we have it here, works great, cant see anything wrong about it - and I did watch the paranoid cartoon. I need oxygen to live, I draw energy from it. The air is already sufficiently polluted that I dont get enough of it. I dont need to purposefully soil my poor lungs with a few hundred different toxic substances, just because "it's cool" or "the cool people do it" or it will make me look "adult". _____________________

That's great Eggy, however, it doesn't give you any right to tell anyone else that they can't. The only people more annoying than smokers are self-righteous non-smokers _____________________

Socialism is a point on the economic spectrum. There isn't a direct relation between the two. Sure there is. If the government regulates economic behavior, that is dictating behavior. Telling me I can't make a particular trade with someone is dictating behavior. The "economic spectrum" only exists as a result of dictating behavior and/or theft of goods. _____________________

Not sure if any of you have seen this yet. My question is this: If the parents do not respond in a fashion which the state finds to be proactive will the information then be used as some sort of child abuse case? What other purpose is there for this information to be recorded by the school system instead of by a pediatrician? Bleh it just gets deeper and deeper...

Leticia Van de Putte. "We should be just as concerned with students' physical health and performance as we are with their academic performance," she said. More than a third of school-age children in Texas are overweight or obese, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture. Arkansas implemented a similar law during the 2003-2004 school year, although the information is sent to parents separately from report cards. Eric Allen, a spokesman for the Association for Texas Professional Educators, said most parents don't need to be told their child is overweight. "It doesn't have a place on a report card," he said. I guess gov co wants to get the younger generation accustomed to this sort of invasion of privacy. _____________________
