I know a few people have read Hamlet's articles about me and Damien, and how we met SL... and met in person. I just wanted to post an update to it :D
I decided to go for a 'longer' visit with Damien... 6 months! And I haven't even been to the UK before. x.x
Well I've been here for a week now and I'm enjoying it. Me and Damien are getting along wonderfully, and I just know this is going to be a permanant thing. Being is a different country is a little difficult though. Everyone speaks the same language (a plus),... however it seems as though half the time I can't understand them. Little things also throw me off.. just the normal every day things, that are just a touch different, so it feels like you're in a dream. I don't know when I'll get used to the toilet handle being on the other side, or when it will be easier to simply cross the street with the traffic coming in all sort of directions (so it seems)! I don't know how long it will take me to learn 'bin', 'sweets', etc...
Everyone here has been very kind to me, and nothing has been *too* weird, except all those drunk people I see stumbling down the sidewalk. o.o;;
Anyways, I was wondering who all else is in the UK? I know there must be plenty, and I'd love to have a meetup with a few others in the area. :) Also.... any advice that can be given to living in this new land would be great. :O I certainly have no idea what I'm doing :(

Hey Congrats there Washu, Madison Gardner and myself, are in the same area-ish (She's visiting me for the christmas holidays). It's her first time visiting me, I went to see her in august.

Yay!!! *hugs Washu* So glad you are having a good time. And huge congratulations to you and Damien! I'm not over there, so no tips from me on how to get along living in a new country. I'd probably be as lost as you are. hehe... Can't wait to see you in world again sometime! Have a blast! :D

I'm here too, in Gloucester, and Freya's not far away... Kris Ritter and Willow (several Willows in fact) lurk in corners here too...

Contact the 'Brits in SL' group, there are loads of us... I even met a new Brit this morning.

And once you get over the language barrier, and the fact that you've had everything the wrong way round all your life... it will all click into place. Except roundabouts... they're just a joke we play on tourists.

Great news!

Glad to hear everything's going so well.

When I read the initial NWN about you two meeting I was actually a little nervous about how the first meeting would turn out. Congrats and best wishes!

UK advice? Hmmmm. I've visited a few times but never lived there. All I can offer from personal experiance is be careful about crossing the street- look right instead of left. ;)
