It's been a long time since I've been able to say - the program is working well, moving responsively, when I size prims with the mouse, they aren't snapping back. I wanted to take this chance to say something positive while I could.

LIES!
I can only stay in for 30 seconds on the average

my best time for remaining connected is two minutes...

tried the following
re-install
update drivers
every setting in options imaginable
and even double and triple checked the firewall

YAY!

Edit :
Disconnecting is an incorrect description... I just crash to desktop...
Oh yeah, cleared cache and temp files too

call me when they fix the ghosting problem...... that is the one bug.... THE bug...

All the other bugs are the ghosting bug's slaves...

I crashed the first time I went into Edit after the 1.5.8 release.

Since then - I've been fine. No problems.

Technically you cannot say it is working well until it is working well for everyone

I'm with Ferran here.

My observations so far...

1. I seem to crash more often than before, not every 30 seconds, but...
2. If I do crash, it takes a lot longer to reconnect, usually 3 or 4 attempts.
3. Teleporting is still a lottery. Coin-toss to see if you arrive, your attachments arrive, your clothes arrive, or if the world is there when you do. Generally since 1.5.8 I appear after a teleport to find I have no attachments, but that everyone else I see has attachments but no body...
4. Ghosted objects seem to have improved slightly, but it's still happening.
5. I quite like the new semi-opaque background for chat, but I know it's not for everyone.
6. What's the point of turning off your group title? If you don't want someone to know your hidden-group's title, make the title blank! Someone mentioned elsethread that it'd be better to be able to turn off other people's titles - I agree.
7. The psychadelic chat text and rounded corners I can take or leave...

I guess at least Live help knows about the issue, which hopefully means the Lindens know which hopefully means there is a solution in the works........

hopefully.... =\

Remember Ferran, the answer lies in rum... or failing that, in coffee with extra sugar...
I recommend a quadruple ristretto with eight spoons of sugar... drink quickly, shake head rapidly, then repeat until your so wired you don't care that SL is freaking ...

And if I set to log in at my home location, and set a new home after about 25 seconds I might even be able to cross my own land eventually!!!!!!

Something I'll be doing too in a few minutes, I'm down to my last cup.

Im constantly boiling water for the french press... it seems that the once clear pyrex decanter is now stained brown... Im to the point where if I run out of coffee grounds I can still get two more pots worth by scraping the glass =P

Ah, I have two of those, plus a drip-filter and a stove-top espresso maker... and a turkish coffee pot... plus three tea pots and two kettles.

Yes, and no. It still ain't there yet.

It seems to be working a little better...but...

- Logged in, for some reason, belt attachments was off to the right. I couldn't move it onto myself; every time I tried, it would "bump" me away whenever I lost focus. I am well versed in attachments...in fact, I've been wearing this particular attachment since beta. Something has changed.

- After getting fed up and just taking the attachment into inventory (interestingly enough later I could attach it properly), I attempted to land on the ground. Funny thing was, there was no ground, sorta. I would fall about halfway through it, and would be stuck in the falling anim until I was flying again. Try to land, same thing. This persisted through leaving the sim.

It's not my router, or my bandwidth, or my drivers, or what have you. The software is just still (2 yrs later) buggy.

So I logged off.

You know... I've almost never crashed in SL.. but the prim thing is nice.

And the automagically disappearing chat input is great too. I've been dreaming of that for a while now.
