Museum of Known Griefers

In light of the continued interest and outlaw aura surrounding griefers, I am debating building a museum of (in)famous SL griefers.

I currently have the following known SL griefers, please add to the list if I am missing any:

Also, please let me know what you think of this undertaking. Would you visit the museum? What if I had a biography/pics/items on display pertaining to each respective griefer?

I think by posting names like this you have violated the SL TOS.

All I get from this is that you think they are griefers. I don't see any proof put out by the Lindens to back your claims.

I thought it would be a good idea but i have now changed my mind. Griefers will try there hardest just to get on this list and things will just get worst.

Personally, I think griefers will be griefers. I doubt that a "straight" person would be converted to griefism just to make some list.

My personal opinion is that this is not a fair or productive way to respond to griefing in Second Life. I'd be more interested in seeing a museum or hall of fame, or any reward of some kind that recognizes residents who have contributed something positive to the community.

I agree, but with all the great residents in SL that'd be one hell of a museum!!

I only know of from his annoying posts on the forums. The others, I have never heard of at all.
I've never been griefed by any on your list.
I haven't seen any public list of banned people from SL produced by the Lindens.

What factors do you use in determining they are a griefer?
Multiple threads by people griefed by them? Personal experience with them?

I'm not defending their actions if they are griefers, but by making a list of players you consider griefers, you open the door to anyone making a list of people they consider griefers whether they are or not.

This is a private enterprise. As such, officially sanctioned (i.e. Linden approved) lists are not required. Judgement will be the guideline in determining which griefers are honored in the museum and which (marginal) ones are not.

There will be no formal guidelines other than that of sound judgement.

So, in other words, it's libel.

You still haven't answered why we would WANT to honor griefers.

You're heading down a dangerous path here, Wall, no matter how well intentioned. Please realize that condemnation without proof is not something any of us should accept. In fact, I would go so far as to say it is just as bad if not worse than the griefing you are accusing these people of doing. The fact is anyone can be accused of anything. That doesn't mean they did anything or not. It's just hearsay, and it's wrong.

The guilt or innocence of the people you listed is not up to you or any other resident to decide, and publishing names shows at best extremely bad taste, and at worst treads on civil liberties. The accused have rights, just as do the rest of us, and denying someone the right to their good name just because you personally heard something or believe something or even if you allegedly witnessed something is wrong. The governing body here is the Lindens, like it or not, and it is for them and only them to determine guilt and to assign punishment.

Please show a little more concern for the SL society as a whole in the future. Even if these people are guilty as you believe, openly publishing their names before said guilt has been proven opens the door for every innocent person's reputatuion to be destroyed by public accusations. In that sense, you are griefing here yourself. Please don't.


Now, if you want to talk about a publishing a list of those whose guilt has actually been proven (meaning their deeds have been judged by the Lindens as wrong and punishment has been assigned) that may be a different story. Most nations consider convictions to be public record. There's probably no reason SL couldn't do the same. Accusations, however, should remain private until such time as guilt has been established by the proper authorities.

This post has no value but to demean other players and has little constructive value. I dislike griefers as much as the next player, but we're not here to do this sort of blatant and meaningless attack in the forum. That would make us trolls.

People will say bad things about other people on the boards...it's the way of the world, and far older than the Internet. It's just much easier for other people to hear the whispered rumors.

I for one would like to hear about the infamous adventures of the naughty Elmore Lenoard characters of SL. I have actually met a couple of people accued of being 'griefers', and they were actually nice people who were fun to talk to. People take things *far* too seriously around here.

Ah, Just like supposed Nice Girls/Guys don't become Sluts when they find out Lap dancing pays 100-5k per dance...Hmm Interesting perspective especially when the same said people consider themselves business people in lieu of thier sexual hungar.

Don't worry... I'll take down any person on exhibit in the museum should I receive a request from said avatar.
