I understand you want to start a conversation, but I'm not really sure what the point of the poll is. Asking if you think people "should" do something (like who to associate with) doesn't make much difference if they want or don't want to. The poll is just a pattern. If you make a Thread without one you usually get a "This thread does not have a Poll' Why do i have to justify everything " damn it! lol |

The poll is just a pattern. If you make a Thread without one you usually get a "This thread does not have a Poll' Why do i have to justify everything " damn it! lol You're confusing threads with clubs. It's clubs that absolutely MUST have poles. Threads only need polls (public of course) if Flakey starts them. _____________________

Does it really matter! People are people in my book, everyone has a right to be who or what they chose in this game, in any other game or in real world!

You are looking to bitch about something in the forums and that is all you want. I know my motivation in my question and I dont give a shit how you judge me! You dont have to bite on this thread. A lesson to you all ...if you think it is so stupid dont keep it at top by constatnly posting heat to it. I dont need to put this fire out cause it is not anything. Nothing at all but a point proven!

I think this probably depends on your goals in SL. If you are here to find a partner or cyber, you might have better chances at events or clubs that openly cater more to avs who are gay. However, you find all different types in all different places all across SL, so even then, I think you might be limiting yourself.
With a few exceptions, I believe people in SL really don't care about your sexual orientation. Now, if you're a jerk or a griefer, then they probably don't want you around; but of course, that's not specific to any particular orientation, is it? ![]() _____________________

Nothing at all but a point proven! No doubt! I told you before you started the poll that it was an illogical question, so I don't know why you are feeling so hurt now by what others have told you. Only heterophobic gays would choose not to mix with the rest of the SL population and chances are a heterophobic would not have chosen to play a game where there are straight people. On the other hand, if your poll was targeted toward heteros, chances are, although there is no doubt there are homophobics among the SL population, that they would not come up and bash gays publicy. Racists and hatemongers are cowards. So answer this: Should Mexicans in SL stick to Mexican Clubs / Events or diversify with non-Mexicans? Get the point? - T - _____________________

Gays, straights, bis, transeuxals, men, women, blacks, asians, blondes, red-heads, Jews, Muslims... whatever way you can think to categorize people, they should feel free and be encouraged to mingle with everybody else.
If people of a certain group would like meet as an exclusive group they can do it without a poll. I would never be against posing the QUESTION. I just think most people are shocked by all this cause the year is 2005 and the ANSWER to the poll is nearly a given. _____________________

I know you clarified yourself in a later post Ahkin, but from the original post and poll, it is not hard *AT ALL* to understand why some people may have percieved you asking this question because you were "against gays mingling with straight people". A little more clarity in your first post would have given you a lot more straight forward answers and true opinions. Just a word of advice.
![]() As to your question, I personally think everyone should be able to go wherever they want, mingle with whoever they want, and be whoever they are. As a bisexual woman (in First and Second Life), I have always felt accepted in SL, and I feel welcome wherever I go. We have a very large GLBT community within SL, and I would say that on average, the community of SL is even more accepting of the GLBT residents than those in the "first life world" are. It is also because of this tolerance and acceptance that a lot of people got on the defensive when you posted this thread. Your intensions were unknown is all. ![]() _____________________

GYA PEOPLE ARE Segregated and it is commonly accepted widespread in the States far more than issues regarding races. It is nice to see people feel that in SL they find it not the same as in the states. Please stop implying that GAY issues are the same as Issues" Minority Rqaces " have. Allthough some are similar - they are not the same. T o assume so is offensive to me...do you care about that?
