So, yesterday afternoon I restored hundreds of threads that were dropped during the forum reorg a few weeks back. These were older threads from the previous "New in Second Life" forum. I restored them to the current Archive forum. No threads were deleted, no content was lost, this was strictly a database insert into our current vBulletin tables.
After the insert I updated post counts assuming that they would only go up since I just added hundreds of threads. Some people have reported higher post counts and some lower, I'm not sure why. I'll look into it, however, I can assure you, we did not lose any threads only gained them.

Merwan - which 'pre-reorg' posts are you referencing? The only threads that were lost in the last forum upgrade were a portion of the threads from the "New in Second Life" forum. These posts were recovered and added to the archive yesterday.
As for the post count changes, it seems to be an issue with the forum software, when we recounted yesterday after adding the recovered threads, it altered the post count. We have learned our lesson and will never rebuild the post count again. |

Hi Jeska - By 'pre-reorg' I mean the SL Forum that introduced the "New in Second Life" thread, (That Forum re-design did not have the Off-Topic Forum nor the Scripting Forum posts that were accidently deleted). There are lots of threads and posts from the "New in Second Life" threads, and other threads, that when I do an archive search do not show up. Also, when I click on links of know threads from the old "N in SL" I get a "do not have access" message. For example, when i click this link - Escrow Services - Helpful to SL Economy I get a - "Merwan Marker you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons: Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page....." Also, my post counter actually dropped by almost 1,400...I'm much more interested in knowing why I can't seem to find posts than my count.... Not sure if something is screwed-up at my end (Safari 1.2.3 9v125.9) or what - any help would be greatly appreciated. _____________________
