Well, i've always been a Pepsi man myself, but I go to a school where a good deal of money comes from a contract with Coke, so the only thing most resturants sell within a 10 mile radius of campus sells coke. I've acquired a taste for both, (luckily, stores can still sell pepsi), but I still prefer pepsi. Mt. Dew isn't that great to me, got sick of the stuff in high school, and I don't drink coffee.

Gatorade.. orange.
edit: Between the two, it doesn't matter. But if I'm ordering a drink, there's no way I'm saying "I'll have a rum & pepsi". |

Dr Pepper, especially the stuff from Dublin, TX made with pure cane sugar, none of that high-fructose corn syrup.
Coke? You mean battery acid in a can? _____________________

Man, I wish we could get that here! Though we do have the imported Coke from Mexico that uses pure cane sugar...totally different beverage...seeing as how high fructose corn syrup is in almost everything in the US and likely one of the greatest contributors to obesity. _____________________

I miss Surge.
And I liked Clear Pepsi. But anymore, I cant stand Pepsi... to sweet for me. Most citrish-ish drinks turn me off, and this runs from the worst offenders (7 up and sprite, which both have a horrible after taste to me), to mountain dew, which im just bleh on... I do like Squirt, though. My current poison is Vanilla Coke, though regular coke works in a pinch (And is actually better, if you add a little drop of real vanilla extract to it, than the canned Vanilla Coke). Jones is too expensive on a per bottle basis. My real favorite is Ramune (Original is the best, Melon and Orange arent bad either), but thats also too expensive to guzzle much of. I'm also quite partial to rootbeer... My favorite is IBC, though Mug and A&W tie for second... Don't like Barqs very well. |

The only time that I'd drink coke is if it was the kind with the REAL cane sugar. Sometimes we get some of that here in SoCal, because a lot of it comes from Mexico. In the meantime, I REALLY like Dr. Pepper. It's my lucky drink. Whenever I drink that, something good happens.
BTW: Does anyone else find it funny that Chris got a personal attack edited out... in a pepsi vs. coke discussion? _____________________

Caffeine is the Devil
![]() 04-06-2004 10:55
At risk of seeming hypocritical (see - Cannabis Carnival) I believe that caffeine is just plain evil. It's insidious. La di dah, put some soda in that babies bottle and quiet them down.
Caffeine is such a powerfully addictive drug to be so widely accepted. It's obvious it's bad for me since, if I drink it for a while, then stop, I go through hideous withdrawals. And yet, other chemicals in our society are demonized *cough cough* pass *cough cough*. Particularly one that is near and dear to my heart that has never killed a single person in human history. Do you know how many people die each year from caffeine overdose? No, you don't, because you're not informed. Wow, where'd that soapbox come from. *steps down* I am by no means saying that caffeine or other hard drugs should be illegal. Heck, make them all legal. Nothing would end the crack epidemic more than people having a crackhead or two in their family. I'm all for evolution and survival of the fittest/smartest. What I am for is honest information in regards to the things we consume. I don't want to find out just how bad caffeine is for me after the fact. Now back to your regularly scheduled debate ![]() Oh, and btw, Pepsi is far superior ![]() |

I agree totally Neph. Dr. Pepper (if I am going to choose to do caffeine) is the way to go!
So yeah. . . Coke or Pepsi, if they're the only choice, then Pepsi. Otherwise, Dr. Pepper. |

Jasmine or green tea with adulteration is blackest heresy. If it's Western tea, adulterate away!

Great shop here in Dallas, fun to visit but a little pricey, and they mail order too: http://ifsandsbutts.com/ Cheaper I think, never ordered from them though: http://popsoda.com/ Or you can just make a road trip to Dublin or Waco and pick up a few cases. One guy here did that once a year, he'd head down and pick up about 32 cases and haul them back to Dallas. _____________________

Although you know what tastes really good when you're broke and living on chicken soup and crackers? KOOLAID!!!!! Man, cherry koolaid with enough sugar to keep you running through the streets naked for hours. Those were the days..
