Its very true that we have changed some things. And that things will be done differently from now on. But has that really changed the way the world is?
No. It hasn't.
Second Life is a wonderful place where people like me, can enjoy freedoms denied to us simply because our bodies are broken. Second Life is not about money. It is not about ratings. It is about people. It is about having a nice castle (Which is very impossiable to have in the real world, makes this place that much better) Its about building that skyscraper into low planatary orbit. Its about socializing at events, and even learning about different skills and how to conduct business.
Most of all, Second Life has brought a wonderful lady into my life. And I love her with all my heart. This is far more important than worrying over ratings or cuts in pay.
Second Life is not going to end because of this change.
If this does not work out, I am confident that the Lindens will examine it and work on other ways of doing things.
Sorry If I rambled.

I am not averse to change. It is simply that the changes made this time target one specific group over others. It is like when arts funding is cut in RL: you have artists turning to commercial ventures (limiting creative freedom in the name of what is marketable) and you have certain people affected more than others (new players will be adversely affected because their learning curves will be tremendously increased if they expect to live on more than the stipend or make any money of their own) whereas the group that is privileged is the longer standing group: those who sell lindens. Not that I dislike lindens sellers. Heck, without them I would never have gotten land big enough to build on. What I am saying has nothing to do with like or dislike. I love secondlife. I love it enough to say hey! that hurts! when someone or a whole group of someones are impacted adversely in favour of another group. If you don't build (and my talents simply do not lie there) then you are pretty much reduced to buying money or begging for it. I started begging last night (asking for events sponsorship for past patrons. One volunteered, so i created a fund. so far i have not had a 2nd contributor so my event is secured until the end of January and then may be no more). Yes Cherry, and there is a reason Linden Labs implemented Event Funding to begin with, which is currently a debate towards mostly Educational activities currently. Yes alot of the Social types are going to get hit hard. Those that already have a in game Partner or girlfriend or boyfriend it isn't going to be as much of an issue and those that aren't here for that and mainly to design it isn't an issue at all. Will it effect how many newcommers come into the game? Time will tell. Will it effect "Dating" and "Togetherness" time will also tell. People like this are a part of life and is one thing that lured me to it, even though now it isn't a big issue because I have a girlfriend; if I was a newbie and had no place to go for Entertainment like Clubs and meet someone, would I get bored and leave? To each their own.
Just remember why "The Sims" became the hottest selling game in History.

I think the thread title here is misleading. I thought this was going to be comments from some guy named Frank.
Someone toss me out of the forums...please.
