Hmm...so congress just allocated moolah for all that pork...(things like Night Basket Ball, and a Country Music Museum)...yet we can't have one of those economically depressed car assembly plants pump out some friggin' steel plate to save our boys? Gawd....@$75,000 per missle which blows up, but we won't fork over a few grand to save real lives...

Study Robert McNamara from the Kennedy days....I'm starting to see shades of him in Ole' Rummy.

Rummy is not the enemy here no matter how anyone tries to twist it...

So the person responsible for the situation isn't responsible for the situation? Privatizing the army's supply distribution? Pouring the country's cash into company's (and campaign contributors) pockets without expecting them to actually get the job done? Sure our soldiers want the best...and they should have it. Where the hell is all the money we are paying to the Haliburton going? Thier subsidiary is responsible for alot of the food supply and delivery and they have been failing on a regular basis.

And yes, Rummy is definitely the enemy...

Read what he said. The statements he made. He is an arrogant idiot that cares nothing for soldier's lives and only cares about towing the greed-line for the administration.

Steel plate is easy to pierce with modern weaponry.

If, otoh, you want "real" armor, you need a bit more technology than that - think Kevlar.

Okay. You are right. I am wrong. Rummy is the devil. Argument over.

Happy now?

Still doesn't solve the armor problem tho, does it?

Interesting story that again makes me question the resolve to get armor where it is needed. I simply cannot accept that it is a question of money. We have a soaring defecit and this President has no aversion to spending. After all, we just bought a Presidential yacht.

http://quote.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=10000006&sid=aMGdbQCSwiRg&refer=home

If the company can produce 22% more armored vehicles, why is it again that the Army isn't making this request? Why is it that we are going to war with what we have instead of what is readily available?

Rumsfeld is the man in charge. I am sick of every single person in this administration passing the buck. It's enough to make you dizzy. At somke point someone needs to be responsible and stop being ignorant or stop lying. Prison abuse, missing weapons, Haliburton, inadequate armor. If Rumsfeld isn't responsible, someone is and he needs to be on their ass hard. This shit is just unacceptable.

It is unacceptable that Guiliani goes on morning television and blames the troops for the missing weapons stockpiles. That is so fucked up I can't even begin to wrap my mind around it. I don't have faith that Rumsfeld is out to finish this conflict in the most efficient way possible. Dragging your ass and passing the buck is so 2003.

Read the article I posted. Rummy says it's not the money it's the physics. Yet the companies responsible for producing the armor say they can make more.

No one has placed the order. So how you you suppose one would get this problem solved?

Or will the actions of one soldier and the encouragement of a reporter finally light a fire under somebody's ass to do their job?
