This has turned into a political platform. Jeb has no concern for her or the family. He just wants his name in the paper and to appear like he cares. If no one was reporting on this do you really think he, or any of the other lime light seekers, would do more then send the parents a form letter?

Certaintly if it was as our present government intends, we would all be sitting in crispers with liquified stems.

Oh BTW - good one Kendra, though it cost me another keyboard.

.

Thank you Rose for your eloquence and experience with Hospice. And yes, I see great hypocracy with gov't and stem cells. There is ample proof, that this science has great potential to save lives, without destroying life as the fear mongers would have us believe.

I recently watched a documentary of a young boy who was born with a rare blood disorder and was incapable of generating red blood cells. He needed regular transfusions to barely stay alive. Through a form of cloning, doctors were able to impregnate the mother with her own eggs and fathers sperm to produce a compatable DNA type as the little boy. After the birth of a healthy girl, the boy was treated with the cord blood. The treatment worked and the boy can look forward to a healthy life with his heroic sister.

I fail to see this a slippery slope. Situations such as this are not mad science, but operate under the strict standards of medical and legal professionals, something politicians fail to see or understand.

You are so right Kool and I'll let ya'll in on a secret (not so secret for those with common sense). This will all be over with when Terri's heart ceases to beat for the 2nd and final time. You will not hear another word out of the media nor politicians is my prediction. :(

You couldn't be more wrong....When she dies the media will go full out and a lot of these politicians will try to make new laws regarding family rights....sex and death sell :(

Drama sells. And nothing generates drama like death, sex, and politics.

Which is what the Schiavo case is all about, to everyone except the family and husband.

The length of time it'll be talked about depends how long it takes for the next big story to appear. Then it'll be forgotten until 1) a few politicians wanting to appeal to the religious right will start drafting some feel good legislation or 2) re-election time comes up and we'll hear "I wanted to save Terry" or "My opponent didn't want to save Terry".

It's a good job there's no big criminal excutions on at the same time. The people outside the hospital would have to had 'choose life' on one side of their banners and 'Fry the bastard' on the other. It could have led to serious confusion.

Speaking of which, I could just murder those parents who make their kids stand outside and protest too. What are they thinking?

Agreed.
The parents have a right to teach their beliefs (about any controversy) to their kids, but when they drag the kid into the protests I feel the kids are being used as pawns.

It's subtle. But then what is it about sex that isn't? :D

The sex part involves the husband's relationship with another woman, and their kids. Gives the media that nice, tawdry back-angle.

Yes..lord knows after all this time he shouldn't enjoy, or at least attempt, a relatively normal relationship with a woman. And I'm sure that MUST be the reason he wants to murder Terry!!!

God people are idiots...
