In all respects. There has it's place. There is uhm there... To be a more simplified world. Some people cannot even begin to handle secondlife. They want their safe little world, their escape. I say let them have it. I can't hate them for liking something I enjoyed over a year ago. There is social software (as is sl as much as I hate to admit it). There exists for people to chat and have a good time. To me Secondlife exists to do the same things as there but also add the element of free creativity to the package. If you want cookie cutters that rarely change, go to There. It's all up to the user. And no one person can sway their ideas. Cristiano had to browbeat me into coming back to sl after I left in beta. At the time I was blinded by the bright colors and simple fun of There. It took me over a month to become accustomed to sl. And now it is second nature. I get bored in There and rarely log on.

One can only hoverboard for so long.

(please excuse my typos I'm really tired)

From: someone

Without IMVU, SL doesn't stand a chance.

Yes... 8 Million in financing, mentioning in large press magazines and papers, and constant flow of new users is "not standing a chance".

Does IMVU help SL? Yes, in a way, but any "virtual world" product could help, the more people who are interisted are aware that software such as these types exist, the better for them all. One could say SL helps IMVU in that way, or that There helps SL, etc.

But SL does not need IMVU in any shape or form. LL does their jobs better than any other virtual world I've seen.
