It's in a box at the supermarket cashier behind the free AOL discs. Oops...I guess I got the last one...

I spotted a DVD on Cory's desk labeled "SL 1.6: Avie's Gone Wild!", but he quickly put it away when he saw me looking at it.

Second Life 6.0
02-11-2005 11:11
I just got my magic ultra time warp delivered copy of Second Life 6.1

It runs on OSXV (wombat) on any G12 triple processor.

I like the boxed version with the VR googles and body point sensors for gestures.

The voice lipsync on my avi is finally fixed from version 5.8

What is your favorite feature?

That's all very good, but they've still not fixed teleporting.

Yeah and in 6.1.1 they forgot to mention about the electroshock feedback through the vr suit...geesh and damn that still hurts there...

Old terms

Teleporting? That term is as old as "Traffic" (now called Wuffie)

Proper term for 6.0 is "Transplacation"

So a few things have not been fixed in 6.0 .. namely

1. You can still put a box on your head
2. Clothes folding is still very basic (for you T)
3. Old prim dresses don't rez correctly
4. Sign language is still more SEE than ASL (that joke is for you Ariel)
5. The black cubes don't always cover the right spots when a naked avi crosses to a PG area
6. Pregnancy child limit is still 256.
7. The G rated areas quickly filled with only Teletubby and SpongeBob content thus making them all the first X rated areas
8. Binaural effects on voice still lag making it sound like a person talking in front of you is still behind you
9. STD's are still curable via a hack exploit
10. Video is STILL laggy

What's in a name

Well true.. but sometimes the new name is enough.

Like the renaming of all "vehicles" in 3.0 to "suicidal contraptions"

Transplacation? i thought that meant making someone shut up from a distance.

Well true of course, but with the force-feedback VR suits, they had to do something to protect themselves from litigation.

Im looking forward to the "pay per view" feature where I can turn on my Event Portal Viewer(tm) and participate in fun filled MegaScope(tm) events from the privacy of my cave.
