I for one am glad to see the fury of yesterday die down some. I was so overwhelmed by the negative nastiness I stopped reading the forums.

I agree with some of the comments I saw from Siggy yesterday, there are more important things in life.

To put it in perspective. I really looked forward to my 3 day weekend. So if I'm not able to play SL as much as I had planned, then I can find other things to do. But I still have a choice in how I spend it.
On the other hand, the Lindens also had plans for their long weekend. But where are they now and what are their choices? They are at the office working hard to get us back in SL.

I've always had the outlook, things happen, mistakes are made. This is part of life, what really matters is how you address them.

I think the Lindens are doing all they can and also making sacrifices of their own and then some to get us back on track.

Thanks guys and I hope you have time to spend with your families and friends this weekend too.

Tell me at what point is enough enough? Tell me when I should NOT be ok with the idea that i have spent good money on a product and can't use it? Tell me how am i supposed to save face when I have recommended this defective product to people...and they actually bought it? HHmm, just a reply in general. In the last year, I have tried 4 different cell phone companies, gotten very little for the amount of money I was paying monthly, not to begin going into the hassle of canceling services I never received and on cell phones that never worked from the beginning..

Then go to Wally World and buy a vaporizer that doesn't work, only to know I'm going to have to stand in the exchange line for at least an hour or better waiting for all the Christmas returns to be taken care of that are ahead of me...

Um, add to that, mistakes in billing on credit card that have to be worked out very carefully and slowly.

I'm sorry, but I really think that the amount of money going to the Lindens for their wonderful world is really not that much to worry about when they do have a problem with their equipment, at least they are doing what they can as fast as they can to solve it, along with telling us what's going on as much as they can.

I've been to other worlds, both 3D and 2D that don't bother to do even half as much as the Lindens for almost twice the amount of money.

Maybe there is a Bug in the system, maybe there is hardware problems, but when dealing with computers, especially when so many different kinds have to interact. I think the Lindens are doing an awesome job.

As far as hosting events is concerned, from what I've seen when I was able to log in the attendance is pretty spotty. This afternoon Lestats was empty, there were 3 people at the Edge, nobody at 666, nobody at XXX, 5 people at Booty Call, and at most one person I have calling card for on at once. So I don't think you need worry too much about missing an event ... many that were scheduled are unattended and the host absent ... you are in good company and nobody reasonable is going to hold it against you.

Logging in has actually been more difficult for me today than it was last night, wierd since there are a lot less people inside than there were last night.

With regard to refunds and such, I have sympathy for people who are actually in this for the money, but 3 days outage (if it ends up being that) is less than a dollar of fee for the rest of us. Hell, our Xbox broke in the middle of Xmas and it did not occur to anyone that we should march on Redmond over it. I do find it fascinating that so many of us are willing to spend hours trying to get in

Don't wear yourselves out, Lindens... you know what fatigue does when it comes time to do something carefully. I'd personally rather see you take the night off, get some sleep, and get it right next time you reconfigure. Happy new years to everyone!
