I'd love to see some more attachement points! Not that I'd use 'em all, but you know, I'd rather have an earring attached to the ear instead of the nose, or the necklace to the neck!
Of course I'd rather not have 'em take priority over other bugs and such. (For those complaining about the amount of prims, they are outrageous no matter what, sorry.)

I wear glasses. That's it. haha.. I don't have need for a ton of attachments because it just isn't my style. However, I have friends that wear something on just about every attachment point they can find. I agree with Forseti that "self-expression is really important part of SL". If tons of attachments cause lag issues, then that doesn't mean we should take away attachments or not want to allow for more. It means the tech end of SL needs to improve to keep up with the creativity of its residents. And I'm sure different people work on different areas of SL. I'm sure there is a rarely a time when every single Linden is working on the exact same aspect of SL. So to me there is no reason that one area such as "avatar improvements" can't be dealt with at the same time that "bug fixes, asset server issues, etc" are going on. I don't care personally if more attachment places are created, but if others want them, I don't really see the harm in asking if it is possible, and if not, why?

What might be helpful is a greater variety of attachment points, but a limit to the number of attachments you can have.

Yeah, I'm wearing my earrings on my ears and my glasses on my chin.
Looks perfectly normal. But just KNOWING it is attached to chin - yuck.
Anyhow, I agree with Pendari.

i think there should be another attachment around the hip area for those who want to wear tails, but ive never had a problem with earings, i got prim hair and attachment bangs, ear rings,glasses and fangs.. and i have worn 2 necklaces in the past
i forget where i place things .. but i think its somthing like this..
earings - on the ears
main prim piggy tails on skull
bangs - attach to nose
fangs - attach to mouth
glasses - attach to chin
necklaces - attach to spine and chest
