Chicago 1900?

I got a chance to spend some time in Chicago last nite. Its the most amazing build. The attention to detail is wonderful. I especially like that the buildings aren't all just facades; I think my favorite was the theater.

And I absolutely love that we arrive in a room ... and walk out into the world.

The level of planning and execution here is inspirational; particularly for someone who can barely stay focused long enough to build a one room folly! Like me!

Anyway thanks, and I plan to return and spend more time exploring.

Yes, the arrival room is a very clever touch... You show up in the room of a newcomer to town, and have the opportunity to get yourself a tommy gun right away.
I spent about an hour the other night just exploring all the buildings.

It is with a happy heart that I announce to you today, the "Chicago" project was finally completed. It has been nearly 3 months since we began this project in Redear. Although moving the project to Faded Reality Island was no easy task, everyone pitched in and made that move possible. Some have contributed in small ways while others have far surpassed the team's expectations..

To everyone who supported this huge undertaking you have my sincere thanks and appreciation. Thank you ever so much.

This project was completed with the help of contributors, builders, texture artists, and some who only know now that your contributions are a part of this project. It is our honor to present to the general populous of SL our lists of the Faded Reality Team, contributors, general acknowledgements, and the actors who help bring this City to life.

It is my personal hope that this project will show the great things that can be done in SL if ppl work as a team. Regardless of the set backs we have faced. I can honestly say I already view "Chicago" as a success.

While we've worked hard to do this project on our own, we're only human and despite rumors to the contrary, not completely insane - so we've used items from outside creators here and there not only to save ourselves some work, but because we simply like their stuff!

Although we purchased these items on our own, we'd still like to acknowledge the creators for making our jobs a little easier. Most of the people listed don't even know about this project yet, let alone that we've used their items for it. The items we chose are all of top quality, and we highly recommend their creators.

We've tried to include each and every object, but again because of that human thing, we may have missed one or two here and there. We'll be happy to include those people in this list once we're aware of any omissions. Althought most of the textures used here were created by Martin specifically for this project, it's almost impossible to keep track of an outside texture used here and a script used there, so please understand that we haven't even tried to list those.
