On inability to log in - we're getting increasing reports of this during peak login times, and it's a straightforward overload in one of our systems. We've got a fix coming which should clear this up, but for the time being, if this happens to you you should be able to get in in a few minutes if you're patient. The best thing to do is leave SL alone while it tries to connect - stopping and restarting the login process will just make things worse.

The best thing to do is leave SL alone while it tries to connect - stopping and restarting the login process will just make things worse. Doesn't seem to get that far... drops out at the loading inventory stage and goes no further. If this is system overload, then you (Linden Lab) need to radically rethink your network strategy. Since the last round of updates, SL has been slower, much more prone to lag, crashes more often (in my case, about 30 or 40 times more often) and is almost impossible to get into.... FYI: AMD Athlon XP2600+ on a N-Force2 board (AN-7) GeForce FX5200/128MB 1GB RAM 512kb Broadband Win XP (spit) NetGear gateway/router
