If my corrugator software training has tught me anything, it is this; cats and swallow-ostrich hybrids, or swalriches, rarely get along. This is typically caused by a language barrier problem between the French speaking swalriches and the Mandarinn speaking felines.
As Devlin and Lleah pointed out, the bitter rivalry often causes the swalriches to move out aburptly, sometimes with out first saying goodbye. You can attempt to enlist the aid of the german shepard you mentioned earier, Maggie. They are not only excellent ostrich herders, but terrific Mandarinn-French translators and will keep the peace.
On a side note, it has been argued that ostriches and Muppets actually evolved from a recent common ancestor. Proponents of this theroy point out Big Bird as being the missing link. Others argue that despite the obvious similarities, ostriches, being flightless birds, and Muppets being human hand parasites made of lifeless foam, could not have come from the same ancestor do to the phylum differences. I say the jury is still out on this one.
