Check this out:

<edit out non SL url>

OpenSource, decent community, looking extremely awesom

Ahaha, Azelda -- didn't I bring that to *your* attention? (I told you about Crystal Space, remember..)

And, I really think you're a very smart guy, but I think it should be against TOS to use SL forums as stomping grounds for promotion of non SL stuff..

"User-created content takes the idea of leveraging player opinions a step further by allowing them to effectively prototype new ideas and features. Developers can then measure which new concepts most improve the products and incorporate them into the game in future patches."

Ryan, I've had a look at the code and it's not true what you say..
if you die you won't execute another command so you won't try to use your potion after you die.
It might be that in a situation (with lag?) when the backpack starts using the potion you might die before it took effect...
I can't really help that because of the many scripts I had to make (limited script-memory) and the way events are handled in multiple scripts.
I'm sorry if you use a potion and you die at the same moment... but I can't imaging you have such unfortunate timing ALL the time?

and if you are referring to the fact that you have to wait your turn before you can use a potions... that's because it's a semi-turn-based game and you have to use your potions at the right time. I couldn't do real turn based like final fantasy where monsters wait for you to choose your move because it's multiplayer. So you must use the potion command BEFORE the turn that you think will be your last ;) It's just a strategic thing ;)
But then again I don't think you're referring to that because if you're really too late with the potion it won't cost you gold/l$ because the potion will not be used at all.

I think Darklife is excellent, and despite only being a lowly level 5 newbie - I think that as a proof of concept, as a starting point, it is very impressive indeed. The areas it lacks are probably areas that are somewhat out of the creators control - such as providing a much larger wilderness area to add that exploration element, more detailed texturing for realism and some better ambient sounds for immersion.

The best feature for me, is in being able to gang up with others for a shared experience, having loot etc shared with friends - adding a social side to it. Within minutes of starting I was teamed up with people I do not really know which is great.

I did find the mad brain creature.. but ermm. then I ran away. :)

I just played Space Rocks. It is pretty fun. However, I think the mouselook settings are too springy. You move the mouse around and the vehicle's centerline gyrates around the reticle for a moment before it stops moving.
