$10,894,003 $8,143,577 $10,049,662 $7,801,389 $9,752,481 $11,584,926 $13,505,748 $10,403,857 $10,101,004 $12,234,092 $12,678,123 $27,420,709 $14,879,489 $12,712,289 $16,066,020 $17,789,478 $18,180,978 $15,432,149 $15,654,495 $15,350,510 $17,648,817 $21,505,489 $24,090,446 $18,922,694 $22,778,417 $20,217,858 $60,962,239 Based on Gifts if this pertains to a majority of what the Rating System Produced, $60,965,239 is a Significant amount that will be saved. Reduce the costs of Positive Ratings to $2L use part of that or what is needed for Funding. Take out negative ratings and use the new bonus system that is currently in place. This is a Possible solution to the Ratings Hog by making it truely Gifts/ratings and leaving out Income Bonuses. This would be Logical. |

On a serious note though. Phillip do you think the next go around you can add a column for population base? Considering it would make the numerical study go easier than speculating.

In what context Kurt what are you looking for as the sheet is and excel .xls format so to add any numerical caculations in seperate cells on the same page so in a way I guess you could say its automated.

Your right it is Gift I spoke out my ass again, However there is one inherent problem I have gifts listed for 100 and 10,000 and 3,000 so the gift aspect cannot be judged soley on ratings.

LL needs to stop the CashFlood (just like the Land Flood). We are doubling L$ every 6 months. So in theory, every 6 months, the money in your pocket right now will be worth half as much in purchasing power. Even if LL's reasons are because of pop.growth, that doesn't change the fact that your L$ is declining .003% per day in value.
LL needs to STOP all Stipends / Welfare and let SL hold steady at L$163/mil or so. Then direct noobs to GOM if they want cash or find a way in game to earn it.... But this constant cash flood might be good for noobs who start at $0, but other folks who have L$, its getting more and more worthless... |

Then we need it seperated, to see Gifts from Ratings Bonuses. Totaly agreed unfortunately wont happen as in its initial context it was garnered on thier data bases as a Gift thus a search independent would not reflect rates alone unfortunately _____________________

It's David Hasselhoff. Is it? I can't see it all too clearly under all that JPEG compression. I wonder if Jeff Fahey and David Hasselhoff know that the only thing seperating them is an aggressive quantizer.. _____________________

Alby, I've seen you posting all over the forums about your love for these economic changes. I'll withhold my opinions of them (as I haven't fully decided yet) but I do want to point out some inaccuracies in your logic. The Value of any currancy is based on a few things. The first being Supply and Demand. As you stated in the above comment, the supply of $L has doubled in the last 6 months. What you didn't state, but what can be conjectured is that the population of SL is growing at least as fast as the amount of currency in circulation. I would support this statement in two ways. One, Robin Lindon stated in a q & a on 1/14/05 that SL is growing by as much as 20% a month. If we only take an average of 15% growth per month, the population would double in 5 months. Also, from the same graph you took the $L doubling from, the median bank role per citizen has roughly stayed the same, +/-2%. This would point to citizens carrying the same bank role as always. So when you say "in theory, the money in your pocket will have half as much buying power" you are wholly inaccurate. If supply is doubling and demand is doubling, then the value of the Lindon should stay the same. The second basis for the value of currency is that citizens believe that the currency has value. I think this is important because LL has stated that the changes they are making are to keep the $L at the same level of valuation compared to the US$. Unfortunately, I can't go to Starbucks and give them $L. As I've seen on your posts exclaiming the current trading prices of $L to US$ on GOM, the exchange rate has been growing for a few days. This spike has nothing to do with supply and demand, but rather the belief that $L are worth more now than they were 4 days ago. The drop in prices over the last couple months didn't have much, if anything, to do with the amount of $L on the market, but rather how much value the citizens associate with the $L compared to what they are purchasing. I will leave you with this... On another thread I saw that a certain Land Baroness has in excess of 5.4 Million $L in her account. I've seen this person buying land in SL for real US$ (how much in total, I've no idea). Personally, I would be very frightened leaving that much real money in imaginary funds. The $L value isn't based on supply and demand, its based on people's imaginations. In other words, it is very much NOT a hard currency. I wonder...a question for anyone that gets down this far...How much real money would you lose if SL disappeared tomorrow? ~Jaz |

Money supply growing at 300% annualized? No need for terrorists... the SL Federal Reserve is damaging the game enough already

I suspect however, that the majority of it is from Ratings Bonuses. Again a speculation I have as well but without actual target numbers of the populace its hard to determine. See some stuff is custom created thus payments from such are garnered a gift. Thus if say for instance Starax makes a sculputure for 20k then he gets a gift payment of 20k, This goes on the Gifts totals but if you were to even take the numbers of how many people Play SL and try to divide that in to the total to get an average you still have skewed numerical data as it still would not truly represent the whole picture. On one aspect as I said I suspect on another I cannot validate it due to lack of informational breakdown. Shadow _____________________

Unfortunately to me it still wasnt enough to start consuming the surplus down. Shadow _____________________
