I've been here for a few weeks, have basic control of prims, my own land and even put some simple things up for sale (because I can) but I haven't seen a mammoth *aww* or met Torley *spits seed* so am I officially still a newbie?!

Haha daz -- *blush* well random Torley moments are the best. At least in my own view, where nothing's forced and you're just gliding through the sandbox and I fall out the sky and say "Hi!" UNEXPECTEDLY. It happens. I really don't like to schedule.
 Whatever you do, enjoy your Second Life and even tho I've been here over half a year, there's still lots to learn. I'm still a newbie to building, so more important than any single label would be you continuing to grow and progress in here. And having lots o' fun. P.S. Never. I am still a newbie in many aspects. I just recently learned to make a proper alpha channel rather than cheating PS to do it.
I am learning how to convert my video files to .mov I am a newbie in many veins. I am neither proud nor embarrased to state as such. _____________________

It used to be that people were generally considered "not a noob" after 30 days of hardcore SL usage. Nowadays I think you have to be approved as a non-newbie by the FIC.

I have been in the 'game' for a little over six months and still consider myself a newbie.
I have seen so called newbies create some incredible things in their very first week in-world, and then there are others (like me) that have been around for a while and have not contributed much. You will always be a newbie in the eyes of some and others will be newbies in your eyes, so it balances out, I guess If I was you, I wouldn't worry about it. Enjoy the game! Tito |

You stop being a newbie when you start contributing to the community in any way that you can....some people fly around for a week with their jaws wide open and eye balls bulging from their sockets....some months....but eventually you find your thing and start doing it
