Cool! Another Vancouverite. I live in Vancouver in the Mount Pleasant area... the part that isn't a mountain or particularly pleasant. :)

Any other Vancouverites out there? Sushi anyone? :D

Gander, Newfoundland.

I'm a REAL Newfie. Not those Gilligan/Cap'n High Liner hybrids you see on TV.

... Currently residing in Red Deer, Alberta for 30 years.

I'm going for sushi on Granville tonight, but it's a friends B-day party so I don't think I can invite you. Nevermind. Why did I write this again?

When I still lived in Canada and went to a function I always looked for the Newfie to party and drink with. They were, hands down, the most fun people I've ever met.

Selects a piece of buttery soft tuna sashimi, rolls it delicately in a mixture of soy sauce and wasabi, lets it melt in her mouth. Mmmmmmm... :D

LOL, I actually had to run and pick up some take-out sushi after writing that. Swept up by my own sushi seduction.

I live a hour from the border and never cease to be amazed and embarassed at the people who don't know where Canada is. I think they could devote a whole season to what our fellow Americans don't know about our friends to the north.

Rick Mercer is the king. Talking to Americans (used to be an occasional segment on This Hour has 22 Minutes) is just too funny for words. Picture a straight-faced reporter getting average people on the streets to congratulate Canada on moving to a 24-hour day (from the old "25-hour Metric day";), and asking Harvard students and professors to sign a petition asking Canadians to discontinue the practice of abandoning the elderly on ice floes...

Or how about asking I think it was Bush about Prime Minister Poutine?
