Grrr... Some People... RL RANT ALERT...

Ok,

So here is the crack, I have just had my evaluation at work, and apparently I am the model employee, fast learner, good at my job blah blah blah, EXCEPT...

Because I sit in my office all day and DO my fugging work (which despite being on here I do actually get done), It is deemed that I lack enthusiasm, and do not participate in group discussions...

We have ONE fucking meeting a week, which I can never make it to, because I am on call and am usually fixing some tard's pc or video player, no fucker says anything ANYWAY in those meetings... and HOW can I be deemed not to take part, I dressed up for Children In Fugging Need... GRR


I am SO mad right now I think I might just punch something, or if I find out who the shit stirrer is I might just punch them...

Why the HELL do people have to be so goddam annoying, you try and get along and its deemed your not actually gettting along, oh and btw there is this one idiot here that does NOTHING, yet she gets away with it... Ok now i'm winding myself up...

Aww. Don't let yourself get too mad and upset about it hon. For one thing, if they're anything like my place, they prolly won't give you a perfect assessment anyway - they HAVE to find some area of improvement otherwise they think you're going to sit back with a smug grin on your face for the next year saying 'I'm perfect, I am. No room for improvement here!'.

Oh. And managers are fucktards. Thats the other reason.

Surely you have some means by which you can dispute that part of your evaluation? Mind you, I have found that office politics is a murky business. So long as you are satisfied yourself that you are doing your best at work, that's really all that counts in the long run.

This is true! If yours are like ours, you have to sign to say you agree. Simply dont! Tell them you think that what they've said is unreasonable.

Never, ever be afraid to stand up to management. After all, they're just people, only they get paid more and have browner noses and tongues.

Oh my evaluator (my boss) was fine about it, he said he see's no problems with me and that i'm just getting on with my work, working on my initiative etc, which he wishes more ppl would do, but he said he is just re-iterating what others have said to him.

So I have decided I am going to make problems up, I am going to ask irritating questions and act like a complete dumbass just to make ppl happy, THEN see what my next evaluation is like...

I work 11pm - 7am.

I used to get the same stuff at a big company I used to work for, yeah 'not vocal enough', 'lacking enthusiasm' and 'not a team player' spring to mind - only really because I didn't play the politics game, shoot my mouth off at every available opportunity like some of the jerks who just shouted loudest in order to get on, or be just the next numbered employee in line playing it by the numbers.

Didn't care. I guess pride in my own individuality was more important to me than playing their game.

Kris is right; even if you're a perfect employee, they always have to search for something to dig at just so they can feel they can push you harder. Don't take it to heart.

Be yourself, and whatever you do don't let the ba***rds grind you down !

Everyone I have talked to agree's with me that its complete shite..

I mean how can you say to someone.. ok your a star employee, work on your own initiative, learn very quickly, get your work done blah blah blah, then turn round and say that sometimes it is perceived that you lack commitment and enthusiasm cos you don't get involved in group activities when i HAVE been involved in ALL group actitivites since starting this damn job... GRRRRRRR

another thing - sometimes managers are required to come up with something for each employee to "grow" with. My previous manager at my previous job told me outright that he had to do that. My last manager at my current job told me basically the same thing.

Honestly, don't sweat it. The compliments show well on you, and unless the words "disciplinary" or "affecting your salary" come up, don't worry too much.

Most ppl here I love, but I work in a University Library as a Learning Resources Assistant, I think you can perhaps imagine the stuffiness that lives within my workplace...

Heh. I never, ever, ever get involved in group anythings. Not social events, not even training days if it's some stupid pissy team building away day that has nothing to do with the job I do. Like, how in fucknation is getting across a rope bridge over a swamp with my colleagues going to help me write code? I just refuse point blank. So in that respect, I'm not a team player.

They're doing all the rounds now on christmas meals, drinkies, nights out and all that. And I'm just like 'nope. nope. nope. why are you even asking?! you know I don't like any of you!'. And in a way, it's true. I have about as much choice of who I work with as I do over who my family are. Why should I be forced to bond with them and become friends? It's not a requirement for my job, and I can still interact perfectly well when it's necessary to do so on the job, which I do very well, when there is actually work to be done.

Let's set up a rehabilitation centre for tards.. we can smack them about till they get it
