OMG! I was flying around, and suddenly... bump. "You don't have access to this parcel". What? No lines?!
So I flew in close, zoomed in, and... whaddya know... the ban lines are better now!
First, they don't show up unless you're really close, second, they're not lines any more, they're just the words "NO ENTRY" written over and over in really tiny font.
WOO!

I saw that in a private sim yesterday. I thought it was just custom textures. A nice improvement.

We may be on to something here. Perhaps future versions will let landowners choose custom ban lines- Art Nouveau wrought iron, Barbed wire, Chain Link, "Police Line Do not Cross tape" ..etc

Yep that sounds like a plan to me!!! ::runs menacingly at Pendari with a few tiny strips of police tape, aiming for the vulnerable parts first::

From: someone "You don't have access to this parcel". What? No lines?! Well Lecktor, now that you are my next door neighbor, you will have something pretty to look at instead of the red lines I had put up to keep you and your wild and crazy friends from raiding my yerba plantation... - T -

Until someone makes a no-trespassing "Goatse" image. Then we're all doomed. Talk about grief potential.

From: Olympia Rebus We may be on to something here. Perhaps future versions will let landowners choose custom ban lines- Art Nouveau wrought iron, Barbed wire, Chain Link, "Police Line Do not Cross tape" ..etc Well, you can change any texture used by the SL GUI yourself, and have your own custom ban lines. To set the ban lines totally invisible, try these three easy steps... 1. Open the "viewerart.ini" file from "C:\Program Files\SecondLife\app_settings" 2. Change the texture key on line "noentrylines.tga" from "5d3e196b-fd4d-ada7-e4c1-99f8e9f1cfbf" the no entry texture) to "f54a0c32-3cd1-d49a-5b4f-7b792bebc204" (the totally clear texture) 3. Restart the SL client. (Note: if you mess your SL install up, not my problem. Uninstall SL and Reinstall to fix)

Yeah, I've been using that for decades. I had even posted it before. I am surprised that more people weren't aware of it.

From: Olympia Rebus We may be on to something here. Perhaps future versions will let landowners choose custom ban lines- Art Nouveau wrought iron, Barbed wire, Chain Link, "Police Line Do not Cross tape" ..etc Yes! I had to spend L$10 uploading my own custom "Stores open during construction" texture for my police tape prims! Wow, I could save ten bucks with a custom ban line! And it would have saved those poor people who kept encountering missing walls and floors as they shopped, plummeting to the ocean floor as they did so...

How 'bout a human chain texture? Imagine- rows of people holding hands, united in solidarity to keep us riff raff out? From: Olympia Rebus We may be on to something here.
