.. your Significant Other (SO) would remain with you for the rest of your life (assuming you didn't do anything particularly out of character).
I'm around 96%.
Anyone else?

What about those of us who already have 100% confidence that our SO will remain with us for the rest of our lives?
Not everyone is shallow and promiscuous you know. Besides, if my SO required me to do something as utterly stupid and illogical as cutting my ear off, well, time to go look for another girl. (Zuzi you're so funny! )_____________________

Well, assuming cutting your ear off wasn't factor of in character or out of character.
For those who have a hard time grasping, I'm thinking purely from a van gogh perspective here. _____________________

Hmmm... Would I cut off my ear to get him to stay? Nope. Either he likes me with both ears or he go can find a new one eared woman.
Would I cut off my ear if it would save his life so that he could be with me forever - absolutely. I think that you need to be a little bit "out there" to even begin to imagine that presenting your ear to a woman as a sign of your unrequited love will actually be receive with less than abject horror. Personally, I would have been a lot more impressed if he'd cut off his penis and given it to me. "Here's my penis in a box dear, it's yours forever". Ah, now THAT would be a sign of unrequited love . _____________________

- Zero - If my SO does not want to be with me, so be it. I would wish her the best. You do your best, that is all you can do, and for some, your best in never good enough. Tito |

If my SO was a French impressionist painter, this might work for both of us. Otherwise, it sounds like a good way to mess things up.

0%, a relationship requires both people to keep it together, it's completely up to the other person...

If I could chop off a lobe and know that I would still be remembered five centuries hence, I would do it in heartbeat.

This evokes memories of the Twilight Zone episode, "The Chaser". Be careful what you wish for.
