It seems that a majority of the questions accepted were by those who support this change.

Only a few questions against the move were accepted.

I noticed that too from reading the transcripts.. though there were a couple token "not fors".... Got to make it have an appearance of fairnesss even if most of the answers were incomplete indetail, sllightly off-point (if not greatly off-point) and/or cheerleader type responses I expect from politicians.

As I was one of the people whose questions were taken, I resent very much your assertion that you know from my questions if I am for or against the changes. My two questions were requests for information.

You: Surreal Farber: Can we expect to see some guidelines on what is an Educational Event, and about when will we see that?
Philip Linden: Yes, we are writing those now.
Philip Linden: Let me look at a rough list... hang on...
Philip Linden: Examples include SL Basics, Building, Scripting, Texture design, Land Tools, Group Tools, Land 101, Using the SL Interface, Starting a Business, and Intro to Particles

You: Surreal Farber: Question for Phillip: Are there any figures on what percentage of people are in world as opposed to those in the forums?
Philip Linden: Good question.
Philip Linden: I don't know current data on forum posters versus in-world people.
Philip Linden: If I had to make a rough guess I'd say that something like 10-20% of folks are using forums.

I am FOR civil and reasonable discussion.. and AGAINST hysteria and bad manners.

Personally, I found it interesting that you got two questions mentioned/asked.

I also don't feel that ALL questions were either for or against.... but reread the transcipt.

As for your resentment....the curmudgeon in me responds, annnnnnnnnnnh (shrug)

Well I guess I have a secret IN with the Lindens. Yeah. Or perhaps I just asked a couple of good questions in a non-biased way.

As for your opinion. I've seen your other posts. I know what to expect.

Did I say that?

You happen to be looking for insult where there isn't any.

Why is that Korg? I ask seriously.. in many conversations you bring up some good points, but usually they're lost on people because.. well, like you said you're a curmudgeon.

For the same reason that "dog is your copilot"... because I feel like it.

I don't take responsibility for other people's feeling or reactions to my posts. I also expect people to be able to separate wheat from chaff.

And Philip did not explain why this was done with so little warning and discussion from the community.

I was simply trying to point out that the lindens chose positive and faviorable questions over negative and un-supportave. I was not trying to single anyone out.

I apologize to those who have been hurt by this post.

Fair enough. I still think you lose people that way.. but it sounds as though that's not really a concern for you.

Best of luck.

In all honesty, Korg, I think you just say you're a curmudgeon just to rationalize your seeming inability to apologize for personal attacks.

This was the first town hall I had a chance to actually attend and I came away kind of ...unsettled. I have to sort of agree that the questions seemed to be "herded" into specific realms of issue. I know that the main issue was the economic things that were changed and that there are alot of people with varying views on the impact but it didn't seem to me that all those views were being addressed in a fair mannner.

On top of that there was an issue of a linden being downright rude to my partner. She arrived late, understandably, and was quickly sent packing by the Linden. Now I can sort of agree with that part since there weren't obvious empty seats. Around the middle of the TH there were several, I ported her in and when she arrived she was told by the linden "sit down and shut up" .

I think I will avoid the TH's and simply read the transcripts from now on....since the questions and such do seem to be controlled for content and such.

In all honestly I think you post just to make yourself feel bigger than miniscule.

They did not...they took the questions in the order they came in and there were some dumbasses in the audience that spoke their mind while philip was answering questions as well...everythings a fucking conspiracy any more.

Haha i quit going to the townhalls for this reason long ago. Have you ever noticed that pretty much no matter what question philip is asked he wont say no you cant have that or no that will never be a part of secondlife he always promises it will be here but then adds a future line like "in the near future" or " in the distant future" I have come to the conclusion he will promise you anything but as far as actual delivery pfft. Also almost everything that is asked is "a major priority". It cracks me up. Also on the questions being asked note yep it seems like the broad generic questions get accepted while the ones that require a concrete answer are discarded. You also gotta love the "Ill take note of that" answer =)

if politics is your interest magnum, shouldn't you be more concerned about how stacked your RL townhall meating is, and not the one of a privately owned virtual world IT company?
