Land Monsoon

It amazes me, every sunday the auctions look sparce and if you are like me you think hmm i guess they ended flooding the community with land..then around monday or so here comes the monsoon! I wish they would stop releasing so much land pretty soon if you bought mature land for 5 a meter then that will be considered way way over price! everyone is going to get stuck with this..

*edited to say: Cheap land is in the interest of every resident. SL is about living your dreams and manifesting your brightest, craziest, wildest ideas. Artificially inflating prices so someone can turn a profit is sad.

i dont see why you think im a land baron. I havent sold a peice of land in i dont know how long. i do own a ton of land but thats so i can manifest my own creations just like you say.

You are of course, conveniently forgetting all the people who were forced to buy land at $20/m and are now forced to give it away for free in order to move somewhere else. Not to mention all the noobies who were able to enjoy SL so much more due to the increased land valuation allowing them to sell their Land for the Landless plots for mucho dinero.

Maybe since the land prices were so artificially inflated?

I'm not aware of billy's past, but his project in Jaffee is pretty interesting... a sim-wide snowy amusement park. If done right it could be really popular.

It's obviously not a good time to make money selling land. You're complaining about low land prices.

Dont worry eggy hiro odviously doesnt know my past either.. i havent sold land since a good while before the land prices even started to dwindle.. but i own a ton of personal land that i would like it to hold atleast 1/4 of its value, it just annoys me something i paid good money for will not be worth close to what i paid in a few months.

hiro, this is hilarious.. think about this.. that site is a resident auction site just like ebay for people to auction of there land/services and objects.. what do i get from there? Nothing besides the satisfaction that i met a need that was not met before i came along.

If you're not buying it to resell it why do you care what the market value is?

Saying you haven't sold land for profit since the market tanked isn't really convincing.

okay, at this point I'm bored and tired and really just busting your chops.

I do not have to prove anything to you but i will entertain this flame war that you are trying to ignite. I care that the market is dropping for several reasons.. one is that i own a whole sim in which i bought before the prices dropped 2 is i own a ton of other land i have had for quite some time before the prices dropped. Now say i have to quit sl for some strange reason tommorrow.. i have no security i wont get a 4th of what i paid for the land. If i buy a car in real life i wouldnt want it to devalue this quickly same with anything that cost any decent amount of money.

So you don't have any land for sale, but you're planning on selling over a sim of land?

The bottom line is that land were overpriced, everyone was talking about how overpriced they were at the time, lower prices encourage lots of people to own land and participate in SL, and you've acknowledging that you have personal gain / loss at stake in the prices.

Billy, or I mean "billy" I don't want to flame you. But this thread started out with complaining about dropping prices and too much land out there. Unless you're looking to resell it then any value of your land should be what you do with it.
I guess this combined with your demands for a special billy telehub in your cheap middle of nowhere sim makes it seem like you're a "buy low, sell high" baron who is just pissed that the market reversed on you.
I own a stupid ammount of land too, but I'd love to see land prices drop. I pay extra for land by telehubs because I don't demand LL remake the world so I can make a profit.
If your second life is all about chiseling the last penny out of new residents, have at it, but don't expect anyone to support your selfish requests.

no no no you miss understand me really you do. In my line of work i have no choice but to travel alot if i get the call tommorrow saying that i have to go for a year.. im not paying XXX dollars a month for land use fee's im going to sell my land. my sim was far from cheap. 2000 usd for 65,432 meters of land. far from cheap =) all im saying is i would like the land prices to stabalize not lock people into expensive when they can wait a week and get cheap =) thats it. im not asking for things for billy or anything like that. The telehub was not for me i dont want it in my sim i just said one would be nice closer to it.
