For those of you that don't know, there exists a place in SL called The Librarium. This is a library that hosts real-world books in SL, among other things.
Since this is National Library Week, I'm encouraging everyone to stop by at Abitibi 192,12. Browse our (currently limited) selection of books, see some SL user-written poetry collections, read some popup books, learn from our Facts of the Day, look at the Astronomy Picture of the day (look up), and read real-time news headlines.
For those of you that have book clubs, or would like to start one, PLEASE consider using The Librarium as your meeting place, and we can adapt to fit any specific needs you may have.
For anyone else that would like to have library-related, educational, academic, etc type events, I'd also really like you to hold it at the upstairs of the library. Once again it can be tailored to fit your individual needs.
So come and celebrate National Library Week if you've never seen The Librarium, or even if you have. And remember to donate to your real (and virtual) libraries if you appreciate what they do =) See you all there.
P.S. Stay tuned for my University project next to the library, where you will be able to learn college-level material in SL.

Woot! I heartily endorse this product and/or service!
TESTIMONIAL (completely unpaid): My good neighbor OmegaX has an excellent library going on in Abitibi and I urge you guys to check it out. Not only is it cool-looking, with some neat books inside and you can ride on Mori's tire swing or stop by my place nearby or go sit in the park even, but it's also a great example of what you can do here if you put your mind to it, even if you don't have all the tekki skillz people sometimes think you need. I have followed the progress of the Librarium since back when OmegaX was a small-time hood, would-be numbers runner and ex-land-baron-to-be, and not only has it provided good edifying reading material for the eastern edge of the Grid, it has also kept OmegaX away from what might have been a tragic life of wasted time. Instead he has almost single-handedly created a neat little place that provides a useful service in Second Life and has got it up and running despite the challenges faced by text-based projects in any graphical world. He had a vision and he went for it, without any fuss or worrying about who was doing the same thing or where he could find an expert scripter or any of that, he just went ahead and created his own little corner of the Grid and obviously I love when people do that, I find it inspiring, otherwise I wouldn't be gushing so much about the place.
