My Pug Angel Died

This has been a very rough holiday season for me. The Sunday before Christmas I had to put my daughter in a behavioral hospital. She is being treated for bi-polar disorder and may have to be there a month or longer. That was hard, but I know it was for her own good and she is getting better.

Then...last night, after visiting my daughter, I came home and my Angel was not around. My husband and I drove around looking for her. I could not figure out how she got out. Then I got a call from my husband to come home, she was there. I could tell by his voice that something was wrong. I got home and was told that she fell through the ice in our pool and drowned.

Angel was 8.5 months old and the light of my life. She slept with me and sat in my lap or in the chair beside me while I was on the computer. She is the black pug in my forum avitar.

I'm sorry for posting such a depressing thread, I just needed to get this out and the pugs forum is down for a couple of days for maintenance.

Will your daughter be okay?

That's so sad Urusula - I can't say anything that would make you feel any better but I can smypathize and give you a big virtual hug.

My daughter should be okay. They are just trying to get her meds corrected. She was on Paxil, then taken off that and put on Clonipin, then Prozac. Now she is taken of all of those and they are trying Depokot and something else. They have her at very low doses and are increasing gradually to find the correct dosage. Over the years she has been diagnosed with ADD, ODD, anxiety and depression. We have wonderd about bipolar, but she had never been diagnosed as having it. Being in the hospital, they can observe her 24/7 and they have diagnosed bipolar and OCD among other things.

Oh my GOD Urusula! I gasped when I heard about Angel... I know nothing I can say will ease your pain - But I am sooo sorry this happened. There is no sense in this world of ours - no sense at all.

I will be thinking of you over the next few days - I really will, and I will say a little prayer for Angel.

Urusula, I am so sorry to hear about your pug. I know how special pugs are, I own one myself. I am sure you are absolutely beside yourself right now with anxiety. If it's any consolation, I'll be thinking about you and Angel today.

Urusula, I can imagine how you must feel right now, I was devestated when I lost my childhood family pet, he went out one day and never came back, and the worst thing is, I shouted at him for wanting attention that morning, I cried for DAYS, he was 15, but still its something that you never find easy , and your daughter is in my thoughts, I am sure everything will turn out fine, but we are all here for you

aww Urusula!! I am so very sorry for your loss and your child's illness. My daughter is autistic and I know what a trial it can be trying to do all that is best to help them. And pets are family too. Rainbow Bridge


Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I am so sorry to hear about what happened to Angel. I know when I lost my cat last year, it really hurt me inside. She was part of my family for close to two decades and we were all devastated when she finally passed away. My heart is with you.
