I'm interesting in knowing about some fun things to do in SL. I'm taking someone "out" (go ahead make comments) and wanted to do something different than the "club scene". Done tringo, and fishing....

What other fun things could we do...?

Thnx

Come to a basic building class... (tomorrow, 9am game time) or a speed building contest (tomorrow, 1pm)... always fun ...

Depend what do you deffine FUN.
My fun in SL was exploring with my baby Denis around the world or creating ...
Sometimes I tried to do everything that I am never able to do them in RL, like walking under water, flying with my unicorn to the moon, dancing under waterfalls, ...

SL is the best world to make your dreams true.

Make a cube, make it physical; then sit on it. Hours of fun.
Oh i think if you hinge it with another obj it does some fun stuff too.

Skydiving at the Aerodrome in Abbotts.
Lotsa fun stuff in Blue - from rocket ships to baseball.
Chill in Clementia - throw down a picnic blanket by Jake Cellardoors giant waterfall (one of the oldest and IMO still the best).
Go cruising across the vehicle sims in the buggy of your choice.

Just a few off the top of my head.

If you find yourself in the Hidden Lakes Region (far NE of the world) you can drop in on the SW corner of Penrith and see my maze and Upside Down Room. Most people that visit enjoy it and it only takes 15 - 30 minutes, so it does not have to be a night long commitment.

Backstage is a fun place to visit. Everything there is huge, or you become very tiny, not sure which. Lots of little hidden nooks and crannies to explore with some brilliant builds hidden away, waiting to be discovered.

Spitoonie (sp) is a good time, lots of fun, interactive things to do there.

Lots of fun stuff to do, just keep asking around, your sure to get a lot of different answers.

Not just cubes!
01-25-2005 11:48
Cubes are not the only thing you can sit on!

You can sit on other things.... MOVING things.

Try..

Sitting on a duck in a pond.

Sitting on a duck in a lake

Sitting on a duck at church

Duck sitting competitions will be held next week.

Of course, if you really want to take someone "out" it also nice to type "garden" in FIND and just sit with them and chat.

Hawaii is nice too.

If you don't mind going on a double-date, you can visit Virtual Hallucinations and experience a taste of the world of Schizophrenia. Also great if your honey is keen on bagpipe music.

Well, really, what kind of girl doesn't like bagpipes? Certainly not any that I'd take out for ice cream and soda. Maybe I needn't have mentioned the bagpipes, because, really how can you not like bagpipes?

If you like PvP a la Unreal, go to the Vorago in Varney. It's up 24/7, just make sure you read the directions.

And remember...just WEAR or DROP the weapons.

Kiefer, i hope you find lots of new things to do that are fun to you. i'm looking out for that myself. usually, the exciting stuff happens when i don't expect it -- i'll be dropped a dandy landmark to a castle or a novel build i haven't visited yet, or i'll travel with friends and we'll come across something in a sandbox that's being worked on. i like to write about these things in my blog (URL below), i hope it may do ya well.

it's difficult for me to describe from a proxy here... it seems so distant... but hey if i see ya inworld we'll roll on.

i'm curious to see what the new Sponsored places will be, and i intend to check them all out. also, right now, with MetaAdverse, i'm checking the billboards to see what sorts of new services and things-to-do are being offered that i have not tried yet.

and speaking of Unreal,

Bedazzle is proudly presenting Unreal: Second Life soon... check this out for more info:

You have to visit Krittania and see Heaven and Hell. Plan to spend a couple of hours, it is phenomenal! Kris you are way too modest.

I remember going to Hell, man I got lost, I think I feel actually down inside somewhere and couldn't get out... But I loved it, tons n tons, and not just cos the creator is teh kyootie :p

It's a beautiful sim, as is Gypsy moon, although I haven't been around there since Katy finished it, I unfortunatley cannot plug my own sim, cos its just where me and my friends live, ALTHOUGH, we do have a few great lil shops there :) and a nice working swing set that go's so fast if your in mouselook you will vomit, assured!

Heaven and Hell is awesome....definately a must see. Also Chinatown will be open soon which is also awesome. The most amazing projects are the ones done out of love for building and usually the owners are digging deep in their pockets to support them.

There used to be an italian restaurant which was a funny place to go on a date. But you could try amusement park fare at Spittoonie, in game gamer life at something like DarkLife, get a boat and go sail/motorboating, go iceskating in winterwonderland ice rink or in New York, sneak a peek at the beautiful dark palette of the new Relic island, take in a fashion show at any of the several modeling agencies, into sci-fi? try Sci-Fi Geeks museum and store or the holodeck live demonstration, furry curious? visit luskwood or Kathmandu's island emporium, into optical humor you could try MAPS Funny museum, see the giant buddha or go jump in mt g'al's volcano, go underwater scuba diving or visit the submarine, visit an art gallery like starfish or goyan, go skiing or snowbaording, want to find out a little bit more about particles? try the particle laboratory, if youre feeling slightly metaphysical try lakotas school of higher learning in maxim, theres an old fashioned gas station in chong, the industrial complex of Slopco, try bullriding at a saloon, spend a quiet minute at the iraqi war memorial or the 9/11 park or stonehenge, visit a tribal drums event, climb the giant beanstalk, lookup the word "castle" and go on a tour of a few of them, check out DNA's places, theres a functional geyser and lots of waterfalls, wander through The Forest of Kahruvel, go swiming at the samoa community pool, see the heights at the ARMORD Space Needle Complex, teh rivendell project is stil worth a visit, see some amazingly different avatars at DarkDharma Avatar Isle, sight see in chase's manhattan, fly thorugh the space rocks of death or just go to Semang Airstrip and see some amazing aircraft by Konigmann Lippmann, try the demolition derby, get a dog at D&D Dogs, Inc. and take it to a park to play, looking for a few more intimate moments? try Stairway to Sexy Heaven or The Lost Gardens or Hawaii or the Tango room, check out simcast entertainment, and at the end of the day warm your toes by the fire of chalet Linden.

Note - I didnt include the usual clubs, shopping or sex spots in that list. Things come and go in here - but there are some amazing places and things to do.

Hope this helps! Have Fun!!!
