I find it highly amusing that I laid it all out for you people that just don't get it and you still persist in scratching your heads and acting dumbfounded.

I suppose though, it's to be expected - after all INTERNET!!!!!!!!! It's serious business.

At first I didn't understand how no one ever realized. I mean seriously, if you take a close look and maybe strike up a conversation with us it's pretty obvious what we are actually all about.

Then again, this is the internet and it's serious business.

I was running around the island sandbox with my KD avatar and rolling a trial version Katamari around on the island sandbox last nite and on of the first things said to me by a stranger was "Hey, are you gay or something?"

Ka-ta-ma-ri Da-ma-c-i

You either get it, folks, or you don't.

incorrect, on the box it says "Katamari Damacy",so that is the offical name of the game.

yawn... people love to display their ignorance sometimes... Japanese language has different ways of transliteration, they just chose one for the box, but this doesnt make it more correct than the other (and i used the term "correct", not "official";), in fact a japanese wouldn't probably even notice a difference between the two. The only time when one can state one transliteration is absolutely flawless is when it includes a foreign language word that can be identified beyond any doubts. In fact if you transliterate Damaci or Damacy in japanese they would be written and read exactly in the same way.
Actually if i have to be totally precise the transliteration method including the use of the Y is the least used overall.

Anyway, about littering not only the forum, i was referring (between many other cases) to the pictures posted by Danny deGroot. Quite a blatant case of littering.

Look buddy, he uses the word transliteration instead of translation so he obviously knows what he's talking about, so just back off!

While we have experts here, maybe you can help me with something.

Im looking for a bento box, it cant be pinku (thats japanese for pink) or any girl color. It has to be of 2 or more kotoba (thats japanese for 2 compartments) and has be be chibi (small) sized. And has to be really kawaii (cute). Also It has to be about 10-20 bux. And you have to post pics of it first (i want to make shure it's kawaii (cute)). And it would be nice if it came with matching chopstick holder (WITH chopsticks). OH! and it CANNOT have any cartoon pictures, or be made out of plastic. It has to be made of ceramic, or something like that. Also it would be nice if it was made in japan. and not in china or corea (korea) or whatever. I have found a bento box similar to the one im describing in e-bay, but it was 1 kotoba, and i dont want my gohan (rice) to touch my other things (it can get wet and i would not like that, plus 2 compartments looks more kawaii)

Davoren, translation is used when you have to convert the meaning of a word from a language to another. Transliteration when you have to convert the pronunciation or spelling of a word from an alphabet or writing method to another.

Kawaii -> Cute = Translation
(Insert kanji or hiragana for Kawaii here) -> Kawaii = Transliteration

If you didn't get it, and still don't, I see Tom Arnold as an idiot who has no means of controlling his impulses or mouth. Sound familiar? I used to watch him do stand-up in person here in my home town where he got his start in the late 80s and have unfortuantely watched him blather on non-sensically over the years on various talk-shows and currently on TBDSSP.

As far as Derrida goes; guess what back-patters? I didn't make any comparisions to him or any other post modernists who fear common thought and embrace fragmentation, Cromulence did. I was comparing his claim of being a postmodernist to Tom Arnold's "art". That's all well and good by the way, I really don't have an issue with true postmodern art or deconstructionists, it's just that's not how I see the actions of W-Hat. I view using the theories of Foucault, Derrida, and the like as a systematic method of excuse making, as saddening to say the least.

Apparently, by the volume of bans and suspensions doled out to your group since its inception, so do the Lindens.

Harrassing people who do nothing to you does not a philosopher make, no matter how many times you utilize the smoke and mirror "postmodernist" excuse.

Um, I'm not a member of W-Hat.

Um, I don't like Tom Arnold's "comedy". Much. But that's just me, and I have no problem with people who might.

Um, Foucault has no theories, only criticism of existing conditions, and a good take on the role of authority. Derrida has no theories, only an interesting criticism of existing meanings and ways of communicating, and a method for dealing with it. He also has a better sense of humor than Tom Arnold. Or you.

Um, you came into this thread and harrassed people who were having a little fun with the W-Hat concept. Reminds me of...yes! Welcome, potential W-Hat member!

Um, read my post again, another way. And then ask yourself why you read it your way the first time.

Have a nice day!

edited to remove an unnecessary sentence.
