Ahkin, ever heard the phrase "You get what you pay for"?

I agree.
Although I still think my opinion should matter. I mean I am still a potential Upgrader.

Yeah, the whole deal with the $9.95'ers is that they can upgrade if they so choose. Of course Linden Lab would be interested in getting these people to do so, which is why they have implemented these changes to make it harder to succeed successfully without buying land or creating something.

Their rather aggressive rise in rate prices may initially scare off more people than encourage them at the moment, but hopefully foster more new inventions and creativity as a result of it being cheaper to create things than rate somebody.

At the same time, I looked at your poll again Ahkin and I don't get what any of these choices have to do with each other whatsoever. What was the point of this post again??

something i think people don't get about the whole expensive ratings situation is that bonuses come from your relative ranking for the week. if the higher price means everyone rates less than your relative ranking won't be any different.

as for the rich/poor thing....... rating is 25 times more expensive for you no matter how much money you have. can rich people afford to rate more now than poor people? yeah and they could when it was L$1 too. of course they can only afford 1/25 as many total ratings now as they could before. :)

long term the only effect this will have is everyone will get half the bonus they used to get. just cause you're getting rated less shouldn't have any effect. everyone's getting rated less but the bonus pool's the same. well half of the same.

bottomline, the changes won't gang up to hurt your bonus even more.

Regarding the complaint of my poll - He chose to post that I suck at Polls instead of jsut voting so. lol

The Point of this post is pretty much everything you wrote about in the quote before you complained about my poll.

There are no classes in SL. However there seems to be a lot of people who wish they were so they can feel justified in feeling sorry for themselves.

Yep, people have different amounts of money. How does that translate into a class system?

It doesn't... but isnt it odd how it just seems more valid if someone with lets say... 258 lindens said there were no classes than if someone with gobs and gobs of Lindens states that there is not a Class system. I was just trying to get you to yell at me Chip. I miss you.

hehe no yelling from me :) I just find it annoying that the people everyone points their fingers at as being the "upper class" don't feel that way at all and have no desire to lord it over other people, yet the tone of these claims suggests that they're being opressed by greedy overlords. I don't look at anyone as being a different "class" than me, no matter where they are on the leaderboards or what level of subscription they have... yet it's assumed that I'm greedy simply because I've been successful. It's rather offensive. In my personal opinion, those without much money who resent people who have more are the greedy ones and not the other way around. It's all a matter of perspective.

that's because people are irrational.

anyway, that scenario will seem valid to you if you already believe there's a class system and as a result see poor=virtuous and rich=evil. :D
