Actually a few of the Lindens have been really nice to me, like David and Char.

If anyone has a problem with Lindens not being helpful to them, try being helpful to them first. If you're an ass or a whiner no one sane will be inclined to waste their time on you, and believe you me, like any "customer care" employees, the Liaisons put up with a LOT of crap and boy do I mean a lot! I've seen a few logs where players were an inch away from openly insulting them and I'm sure thats happened many more times than I've witnessed.

I think the original question in this thread was wondering if the lindens ever sponsor player projects, not whether or not the lindens are helpful

All the Lindens are very helpful. Even Phillip has helped me troubleshoot a problem before. How often do you get tech support from the CEO? hehe. The Lindens just generally rock.

Andrew Linden is pretty good about keeping up with the scripting forums.

In-world Lindens are a toss-up, some of them are talkative and some of them are aloof. I can appreciate why... they are busy... 'sides, I am somewhat reclusive myself...

I was asking specifically about sponsored projects. The Lindens have always helped me out when I had questions, but as far as funding a project I only knew about Eggy's casino. Very cool to hear they are gonna sponsor more things in the future. SL needs more 'toys' and its hard to keep them all rezzed without Linden help.

Some of those 'aloof' Lindens are testers. Testers are usually working on detecting bugs and whatnot, and don't have time to talk. Other times when you talk to a Linden if they don't answer they are either in IMs, away from their comp, or have their screen blocked by pop-up boxes we don't have. They aren't being rude, they just don't see you, or can't talk.
