Say each row out loud... counting the numbers and saying what each one is.

The first row is "1" so the next row will be "one one"
Next row is "11" so the next row will be "two one"
"21" becomes "one two one one"
"1211" becomes "one one one two two one"

Edit: aaaaagh everyone is so much faster at this than I am

ok this one is a bit tougher but uses similar logic:

George, Helen, and Steve are drinking coffee.
Bert, Karen, and Dave are drinking soda.
Using logic, is Elizabeth drinking coffee or soda?

Same prize all to be awarded tomorrow AM
