This is my fav question to ask people. You can tell a lot about somebody by what their fav movie is =P Well, maybe not...but...have at it.

Heh its actually a difficult question for me...its hard to stamp out a fav.

I will list a few that i can watch over and over and over again since they must be the closest thing to a fav for me.

The Game ( Poor Mr. VanOrton...you've gone crazy )
The Big Lebowski ( The Dude abides )
Heat ( Pachino vs De Nero.... I mean COME ON )
Ronin ( I play a lot of SpyCraft )
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (Can't stop here..bat country)
5th Element (LeeLoo Dallas...multipass)
Leon: The Professional ( Luc Besson fan...sorry )
The Messanger ( Dustin Hoffman....its all about Hoffman )
Die Hard ( Hans Gruber..best bad guy ever! )
Stargate ( I found one in SL....sweet. )

lol and yes...even.... Robot Jox because it was that bad.

I am sure there are many many more that I cant think of right now but those are just a few that pop into my mind.

EDIT:

I've thought of lots more...but i just have to post this puppy.

My all time fave is Gone With The Wind. Awesome movie, especially when you consider when it was made. A Chorus Line is a very close second, I know its a musical but hey what can I say...

Paraphrasing High Fidelity: What do you mean "favourite movies? Favourite movies to see at midnight in a rep theater? Favourite movies on a Sunday morning? Favourite movies to watch alone? These are important questions".

Anyway, in no particular order are _some_ of my favs
The Third Man
Cassablanca
Manhattan
Annie Hall
Amelie
Fist of Legend
Surviving Desire
The Matrix
Oh Brother, Where Art Thou
Blazing Saddles

and if we're allowed documentaries/concert films
Standing in the Shadows of Mowtown
Stop Making Sense

EDIT: and High Fidelity. Dur.

My favorites
07-14-2003 09:43
The usual supects are:

The Usual Suspects
Blade Runner
Matrix
Apocalypse Now
Any of the Jay and Silent Bob series, not counting Mall Rats

Japanese favorites:
Any Myazaki film, but especially Laputa and Mononoke Hime
Yojimbo
Kagemusha
Any of the Kozure Ogami Itto series

Not sure why I like these so much but here they are:
Almost Famous
Say Anything
La Discrete (obscure french film)
Shadow of the Vampire
Immortal Beloved (gotta love Ludwig)
Amadeus
Shawshank Redemption
Schindlers List
Dark City
Indiana Jones 1 and 3
Most of Jackie Chans earlier films

I have more fun waching original films and then the remakes or re-interpretations immediately after. For instance, I like Yojimbo, but I like it more after watching Fistful of Dollars and Last Man Standing. Star Wars is much more entertaining after seeing Hidden Fortress.

Recently I discovered Rabbit Proof Fence. Wow
I'll still watch Predator over and over. Great Villans help make great movies.
The Ray Harryhausen films always thrill me.
I still like the original King Kong, campy dialog and everything.
Rebecca- Hitchcocks greats as far as I'm concerned.
I could start a whole thread on soundtracks that I like, but I think that there are better discussion boards than this one for that topic.

But here's a thought:
Movie-making ala the lego movie making kit (without buying the legos and special software).

For all you budding directors and machinima-philes out there, make a short (under 1 minute) scene from a favorite film, I think the last gun fight from the good the bad and the ugly would be a great scene to make: no big sets, and all it does is switch from character to character. Film it in SL, add music and voice over, post it.

Anyone see a potential contest here?
